Multiple sources tell Sporting News the Los Angeles Clippers are making a push to acquire center Kevin Garnett from the Boston Celtics. Team officials have been talking ahead of Sunday's game in Boston. Questions remain about whether the Celtics are ready to make a major step in rebuilding the franchise. Garnett has a no-trade clause in his contract, and would have to agree to waive it in order to make a deal happen.

The crux of an offer for Garnett, according to sources, would be based around second-year guard Eric Bledsoe and veteran wing Caron Butler.

Celtics officials have made no decisions about the future, even with rookie power forward Jared Sullinger (back surgery) joining point guard Rajon Rondo (knee) last week in seeing their seasons end.

Muddying the waters is the fact that the Celtics keep winning since Rondo went down and are whooping the Clippers as I write this. Note that the Clippers offered Bledsoe and Butler. The Celtics can still counter offer for something more, but Bledsoe (who is only 23) is quickly becoming a blue chip young player, so I doubt you can get much more than that for a player in his latter 30's. Most pundits didn't think the Celtics could win a title with Rondo. When he went down they said the best the Celtics could do would be to squeeze into the playoffs. Then Jared Sullinger went down. But the Celtics keep winning. Right now I'm pretty sure Danny Ainge's two closest friends have become rock and hard place.

Kevin Garnett On Trade Rumors: “I Bleed Green, I Die Green..”

Sporting News’ report Sunday that the Clippers are making a push for 17-year-veteran Kevin Garnett has become the rumor of the week. Follow up reports insist it’s not likely to happen, but either way, the six-year Celtic made it clear he’s as loyal as they come. According to Greg Payne, ESPN Boston: “Well (Celtics GM) Danny (Ainge) made it very, very obvious since Day 1...

Report: Clippers Trying To Trade For Garnett

We all know what rumors, and sources get you in the sports media, and that’s not much.  Still they must be reported and one rumor of late is growing buzz and steam. Lives in Malibu.about 13 hours ago via webReplyRetweetFavorite@Powell2daPeopleShaun PowellThis is far from a surprise, but it’s still something nice to note: Kevin Garnett, who has made it abundantly clear that he wants to end his career in Boston, will reportedly only accept a trade if Pierce...

Kevin Garnett on Trade Rumors: “I Bleed Green, But It’s a Business”

I am on record saying that the Celtics window has closed and it is time to blow up the team. KG and Paul Pierce would be considered valuable assets to teams who are in a position to make a NBA Finals run.  Every trade should be explored by Danny Ainge at this point. KG has a no trade clause, but from these quotes it appears if the right trade came around he would be interested....

Squashing another rumor - Clippers reportedly not interested in Garnett for Bledsoe trade

With the good Los Angeles team in town yesterday, it was not all that surprising to see trade rumors between the Celtics and Clippers pop up. After all with one team floating right at the .500 mark and with several key veterans on their roster, and the other team in 3rd place in their Conference and seemingly one piece away from being championship contenders - they were a natural...

Bolting Beantown for La-La Land, Kevin Garnett would help the Los Angeles Clippers win a title

Preparing to make a legitimate run at the Larry O’Brien NBA Championship Trophy, the Los Angeles Clippers are trying to acquire Boston Celtics center Kevin Garnett for second-year guard Eric Bledsoe and veteran Caron Butler prior to the February 21 trade deadline. Although losing five of their previous seven games, Los Angeles (34-15) still sits atop the Western Conference Pacific...

Boston Celtics: Time to Sell. But not Kevin Garnett or Paul Pierce.

With the recent news that Jared Sullinger will be out for the rest of the season, joining superstar point guard, Rajon Rondo, all hope of contention is lost. They could make a big trade to acquire talent, but it would cost all of their valuable pieces and long-term cap space, which is why Rudy Gay is not in Boston and why Josh Smith will not be in green either. With a healthy Rajon...

Fantasy Basketball Week 14 Recap

Could the Boston Celtics be willing to trade Kevin Garnett to the Los Angeles Clippers?  That is a question Sporting News is wondering and thinks the deal would revolve around Eric Bledsoe and Caron Butler.  To me the move makes little sense for the Celtics as they have Rajon Rondo (who is lost for this season) heading into to next season and this one is pretty much lost without...

ESPN: Trade possibilities for KG and Pierce

A recent ESPN 5-on-5 discussed some of the trade possibilities Boston could make in dealing Kevin Garnett or Paul Pierce. These are just suggestions and only two have actually been brought up as rumor. 1. What's the best Kevin Garnett trade the Celtics can make? Israel Gutierrez, ESPN.com: Garnett and Fab Melo to Chicago for Joakim Noah and Marco Belinelli. No trade at all...
