Los Angeles Lakers center Dwight Howard took a shot to the face from Golden State's David Lee on Monday night and plans to retaliate in the future.

Howard received three stitches in his lower lip after Lee elbowed him in his face during the Lakers' 109-103 loss to the Golden State Warriors.

Howard was called for his ninth technical foul for arguing after the hit occurred.

"He got away with a shot," said Howard. "I'll remember this game, I'll remember that shot."

Lee told Howard the hit was unintentional, but the Lakers center didn't believe him.

"He said he wasn't trying to do it," Howard said of Lee. "You can look at the play and see it for yourself. I will take care of it later."

Howard said he would have retaliated against Lee in the second half but didn't want to potentially pick up his second technical and be ejected.

The Lakers play the Warriors again April 12.

Dwight Howard was not the only Lakers player to suffer an injury in Monday's game.  Metta World Peace left the game with a strained left knee and did not play after halftime.

World Peace will be reevaluated in Minnesota on Tuesday, a day before the Lakers play the Timberwolves on the road.

"He said that the back of the knee was bothering him and I told him, 'Well, if it's bothering you, you just can't go out,'" Lakers coach Mike D'Antoni said. "He's just really hurting, so that's why we held him (out), but I don't know what that means."

  • I saw the game live and don't think Lee intended to hurt poor DHo. How about forgiving and forgetting Dwight OR just beat the W's the next time you play. This isn't Junior High. Be a man
  • The elbow to the lip was obviously unintentional, and something that happens a lot on plays like that. Dwight needs to start MAN-ing up and try lead his team into the playoffs instead of crying about a bump in the lane.
  • I guess dwight forgot what he did to Manimal earlier this year

Dwight Howard sounds like he’s planning payback for David Lee’s elbow

Leave it to the NBA’s biggest drama queen to stir up some drama after the Lakers’ should-have-been-more-embarrassing loss to the Warriors Monday night. First, the background. When David Lee went up for a lay-in, Dwight Howard took exception after Lee’s elbow caught him in the mouth and cut his lip. Unintentional or intentional, it’s hard to say. For whatever it’s worth...

NBA stars' 'superhero' Nike shoes violate rules

So, Nike has introduced some new superhero shoes for Lebron James, Kobe Bryant and Kevin Durant. Superhero shoes? Yeah, basically Nike had to release some new shoes for the NBA playoffs, and came up with a superhero theme. Officially, this is the Elite Series 2.0 line and, truth be told, they are pretty sweet. There's a little bit of a sticking point, though: They violate the...

Dwight Howard Suggest He Will Payback David Lee For Elbowing Him in The Face

Players don’t respect Dwight Howard, so I don’t think Lee will be shaking in his boots. Dwight needs to man up from time to time, so people just don’t run over him. He took a pretty good shot from Lee and here is what he had to say after the game. “He got away with a shot,” Howard said, according to Yahoo! Sports. “I will remember this game.
