What a shame to see a talented individual who was given the breaks in life in order to succeed - and then implodes. Before Renaldo Balkman was drafted by the New York Knicks in the first round of the 2006 NBA Draft and went on to have a brief, uneventful career with New York and the Denver Nuggets before traveling overseas to play in the Philippine Basketball Association, he wasn't ever a starter (came off the bench)when he played college basketball at the University of South Carolina and after 1 year, applied for the NBA draft.

The "one and done" college basketball disease that produces inferior professional players.

That's why he fizzled out in the NBA and will probably do the same overseas.

I guess most of you assumed that the "N" word meant N**g*r. Does that make YOU the racist? No, it makes you an A$$ for assuming. FYI: I've been married to my high school sweetheart for 43 years. I also would like to mention that she's African American.
When we got married she was a negro, and I was a white boy. Then she turned black, and I became whitey, then she became an African American, and I became a caucasion. Sometimes we laugh about the changes, but one thing never changed, we still love each other because we didn't let bigotry control our lives, and we kept our sense of humor.

That young man needs to be fired permanently from playing basketball again. I think that people who play sports and get into a fight, they need to be fired and never play again. Especially those overseas who play soccer. Innocent people lose the lives over that game. Anybody that can take a GAME so seriously needs help.

It is a shame that racism came to play here. The thing is that I quit watching pro basketball years ago when Sprewell choked his coach and got a fine of $10K. 10K to these guys is a quarter to you and I. Pro basketball players have and do get away with anything they wan to get away with. They are spoiled punks. White and black alike. A white BBall player, (forgot his name) just lately trashed his house after he lost it and was evicted. They are overpaid chumps. They play BBall all their lives and that is all they no. They get a scholarship that everyone else pays for and then skips out of college as soon as the all might dollar yells at them. Uneducated idiots, damn near all of them. Once in a while you get a nice guy but they are then ridiculed. In these days and times it is almost a sin to be a good guy in pro sports. Nothing will happen to this idiot and that is why I quit watching Pro BBall. Pro football is next on my list. More and more of them are only about the dollar. Flacko got a huge deal and said he just wanted to get the respect he deserves. I never got respect for how much money I made. It was for being a good man, a good father, a good husband and a good man.

Stop critizing people for wanting to earn a buck. These players have a short window to make that kind of money, and I don't blame them in the least for taking advantage of it. When their career is over they can go back to school and not have to worry about student loans. Why are people always bashing those who have more? It's a very jealous response that has been endorsed by our government and media. Your taught that if you work hard you can achieve your goals in America and live well.
