Oklahoma City Thunder center Kendrick Perkins ran into a bit of a dilemma recently. Seems he had no other choice but to get rid of his beloved 10-month-old English bulldog, and instead of selling the pup using the normal avenues (ie. pet adoption agencies), Perk made a plea to his over 55,000 Twitter followers in the hopes that one of them would take the dog, asking price $1,500, off his hands. Here’s how it all went down… Hey I have a English bulldog and he to big to be around my youngest child he 10 months got his papers and he got a micro chip. — Kendrick Perkins (@KendrickPerkins) June 19, 2013 We paid about 3,000 for him but its not the the money we want to sell him for 1,500 but we will work with you just want a good home for him — Kendrick Perkins (@KendrickPerkins) June 19, 2013 I just don't want to sell him but we don't have time for him taking bids now — Kendrick Perkins (@KendrickPerkins) June 19, 2013 Bids? Is Perk privy to some underground dog auction, because as far as anyone knows, eBay doesn’t allow people to sell live animals on their site. I will work with the family who wants him 1,500 is the asking price but we can negotiate the price. Just want him to have a good family — Kendrick Perkins (@KendrickPerkins) June 19, 2013 Do anybody wants him seriously he needs to be gone by tomorrow — Kendrick Perkins (@KendrickPerkins) June 19, 2013 Looks like there was some interest, but judging by the tone of Perkins’ tweet, nothing too serious. Surprising really once you see the mug on the big man’s adorable puppy… Who wouldn’t love a face like that, what with the ridiculous underbite, piggish nose, and overactive salivary glands? Apparently a lot of Perkins’ followers, because not even an hour after putting the request on the Twitterverse, the dog was gone. They dog sold yall — Kendrick Perkins (@KendrickPerkins) June 19, 2013 Hopefully the dog’s new owners treat him as well as Perk and his family did, because let’s be honest, there aren’t too many things in this world that are awesomer than dogs. • I cant believe u want to get rid of ur english bulldog my mom had 2 of them they r the sweetest gentlest dog out there. They r great with anyone kids, babies, grown ups.I just hope u will be very picky who u sell it 2.I just hope they treat it really good.I also hope u will check out the ppl that do buy him and not just sell him 2 first person who comes along with the money.Plz check the person out really good first check their home check everything. These dogs do have medical problems make sure who takes him can afford 2 take him 2 Dr.if he needs medical care.Sounds like u gave him a good home I just hope he finds someone as loving as u were 2 him.Plz be careful who u sell him 2 not just any fly by night person with money.
  • I think the last line needs a re-write. "Hopefully the new owners will take BETTER care of him than Perk" and keeps him this time. I understand the mistake they made, I applaud his appeal for a good home (even if he really meant, "best home with $1500 quick bucks"), but I'm betting there wasn't a whole lot of intelligent decision-making happening in the Perk household regarding that particular family member.

Glad to know Perkin's kid has his papers and is chipped :)

Murray would reportedly give Cowboys hometown discount

As expected, the Dallas Cowboys decided to use their franchise tag on Dez Bryant rather than DeMarco Murray. Keeping both Bryant and Murray — in addition to Tony Romo’s massive salary — is going to be incredibly challenging for Jerry Jones and company. A hometown discount would help. ESPN’s Ed Werder reports that Murray is...Read More
