Via Larry Brown Sports:

Kobe Bryant has a cutthroat attitude on and off the court. We already knew that. He wants all of his Los Angeles Lakers teammates playing hard and constantly believing that they can win a championship.

But how much sway does Kobe have within the Los Angeles Lakers organization? Enough to get a player cut?

Bryant was a guest on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” early Friday morning. He was asked how his teammates reacted to his guarantee last month that the Lakers would make the playoffs despite being 4.5 games out of the last spot in the Western Conference.

“If anybody in that locker room would have said, ‘Well, I don’t know if we’re going to make it,’ I would have called the Buss family and said, ‘Cut this guy right now!’ Get him outta there!’” Bryant said with much laughter.

Ordinarily we would have dismissed the statement as a total joke, but this sounds like something Kobe actually would do. You remember when he said the Lakers should “ship [Andrew Bynum's] ass out” if it meant acquiring Jason Kidd in a trade? Yeah, Kobe may have been joking, but he was also probably serious. The only question is whether the front office — and Buss family — would listen.

Bryant also told Kimmel that his career is coming to an end “soon” and that he is not going to another team.

“It’s coming to an end and I’m happy it’ll be in a Lakers uniform,” said Bryant.

This story would not be complete without sharing a photo of the leopard shoes Kobe was sporting:

Below is part two of the interview:

8 Comments:
  • I really hope these are fake leopard fur shoes and not the real thing. If they are real leopard fur that's pretty sad for him to be going around showing everyone he's got a nice pair of leopard shoes. Oh sure, it's his right to do so if he wants. Of course it is, blah, blah, blah. And yes, I have some leather cowhide jackets. But how many leopards are left in this world these days? Anyone know? To say I wasn't rooting for the aliens in the movie "Predator" is an understatement. It's about time some other species makes trophies out of us humans, stuffs us to put on display and wears pieces of us for shoes, wallets, belts, coats and purses.
  • I buy almost everything except food and clothing from online auctions. .Most people aren't aware of the almost unbelievable deals that they can get from online auction sites. Ther site that has best deals is savebang,,CoM

and I checked with the Better Business Bureau and was told that it is all legitHow they can sell gift

cards, laptops, cameras, and all kinds of goodies that we all want for 50-90% off, I don't know. I do

know that I bought my son an iPad there for less than $100 and my husband a $250 Loews gift

cards for $48.Why would I even think about shopping anyplace else?
    .
  • Trophies have been made from human skin and just like with poaching prison time goes with getting caught. Do you really encounter that many people walking around with actual leopard hide shoes, wallets, belts...etc? I could be mistaken but I believe there is a law against the import of those items unless they are vintage predating the law. I would guess that these items could be found in parts of africa as well as asia, transporting them would be quite difficult, ( I would often wager that the items found in those places claiming to be real would more than likely be fake in any case). Then once in the states to appear on tv wearing such an item would be quite silly and expensive. I'm not certain how much a person would be required to pay PETA to make it acceptable but I am certain it would be quite a bit. While I am against killing endangered species for hides, tusks, organs, glands, or whatever other absurd things people wish from them, I am also against people throwing fits every time they see something dyed in an animal print pattern and spew garbage about how humans need to be harvested for their skins. Take 2 midol and call someone else in the morning.
  • Starting mess. He was clearly joking. He doesn't seem to have much pull with Jim Buss. I had to start an account to protest this messy writing. He basically said he didn't want someone that didn't believe that they can win games in his locker room. Every player should say that.
  • kobe is just a rat anyway! selfish to the point that he'll cost his team for personal gain.
  • Some rehhins aren't worth the powder to blow them up. He is one of them.
  • What a little bitch he is.

Fan Steals Towel Right Off of Kobe Bryant's Back

Kobe Bryant was not having the kind of day that he wanted. He was hurting. He was probably tired (pretty safe assumption). It has to be annoying that someone would bother to steal right off is back rather...

Lakers fake out Hornets on inbounds play, get key basket (Video)

The New Orleans Hornets blew a 25-point lead and lost to the Los Angeles Lakers 108-102 Wednesday. Dwight Howard Says Kobe Bryant is Teaching Him to Be a Man

I would hope that Dwight Howard is starting to figure things out, but because he talks so much and contradict himself so often, you have to wonder. Dwight spoke to the media again and said that it took him half the season, but he understands now what Kobe was saying about keeping the clown act in Orlando. “It’s going to make me a better man and a better player from watching Kobe...
