Metta World Peace and the city of Detroit do not get along.

During the second quarter of the Lakers’ 98-97 win over Detroit on Sunday, World Peace and Pistons guard Brandon Knight got tangled up while fighting for position as Pau Gasol went for a shot. As the two continued to grapple following the play, World Peace gave the second-year guard an uppercut, although it wasn’t as vicious as some of his other acts.

World Peace was called for a flagrant foul on the play. This incident occurred in the same arena where World Peace, then known as Ron Artest, sparked the 2004 brawl known as the 'Malice in the Palace', which took place between the Pistons and Pacers and spilled into the stands.

  • Why is this guy still playing, he offers nothing to the game but and just creates controversey.
  • Same old buffoon he was in Indiana
  • He's not anything about "World Peace" he's still the same POS Ron Artest that he always was. Maybe he should change his name to "Cheap Shot Artist Artest," that seems more appropriate. This idiot should be banned for life from the NBA.
  • Different name same old thug. Should change his name to Metta World Piece of S**t.
  • Why is this guy still playing? World Peace (?) aka Ron Artest should be thrown out of "professional" sports NOW NOT LATER. He takes cheap shots wherever & whenever he can. Was packing heat (a gun) in the locker room & just gives sports a bad name. I agree with QuickRelease & tfletch(sp?) He shouldn't play in the NBA and & should be banned for life.
