Raymond Felton says he was so disheartened by his mid-season trade from the New York Knicks to the Denver Nuggets two seasons ago that it made him sick.

Felton was part of the monstrous trade that sent Carmelo Anthony to the Knicks in February 2011. Felton admitted his feelings about the deal to the New York Post on Saturday, the day before the Knicks were set to face the Nuggets at Madison Square Garden.

“I was sick,” Felton said on Saturday. “I never wanted to leave New York. At the same time, I had to do my job.”

Felton had signed with the Knicks as a free agent before the 2010-2011 season, so he was only with the team he chose for a few months before being dealt elsewhere. Then, in Denver, Ty Lawson saw more minutes than him at the point guard position. He asked to be moved after the season, and he was traded to Portland.

Felton got a chance to re-do his stint with the Knicks when he signed with them over the summer as a free agent. He had a lot of expectations because he was replacing Jeremy Lin, buthe never backed down from the comparisons.

So far things have gone well. Felton is having a strong season, and the Knicks are leading the Eastern Conference with a 14-5 record.

I have to continue to get treatment.’’ via NY Post

The Knicks at Full Strength

I think for the first time in about 10 years, we can say that the New York Knicks are a basketball TEAM.  Not a group of individuals trying to pad their stats and earn a large paycheck, but a TEAM of players who are working together in order to achieve one common goal.  When one player goes down, someone else or the entire team collectively steps up.  This was obviously evident...

After signing as a free agent with the Knicks in the summer of 2010, Felton was dealt to Denver by Donnie Walsh in the controversial package that brought Anthony to the Garden. The Nuggets visit the Garden tonight, and Felton couldn’t be happier to be wearing the Knicks’ orange and blue. Felton admitted yesterday he felt ill after the trade. At the end of the 2010-11 season,...

Grind Out Game Ends Knicks Streak at 5

Knicks 85   Bulls 93   Boxscore This game from the start was a grind out defensive game from two defensive minded teams. Turnovers hurt the Knicks early  on in the game, but the defense of the Chicago Bulls was tremendous. Their 3 point defense and on the ball aggressiveness is tops in the league. They made the Knicks rush shots all night and constantly look over their shoulders...

MSG and Knicks Hot 4th, Leads to a Win

Knicks 112 Nuggets 106 Boxscore 1st Half Just like last night the New York Knicks have another sloppy half. Last night the Bulls’ defense was the culprit, but tonight it was all about two things, incorporating Melo back into the offense and lack of rest. With Melo re-introduced back into the line-up and the absence of Rasheed Wallace due to a sore foot, the Knicks started off the...

Knicks Injury News: Carmelo Anthony Questionable for Tonight

After lacerating his finger Wednesday night, Carmelo Anthony received five stitches.  He was unable to play in the New York Knicks' big win over the Miami Heat, and his status is still unknown for tonight's matchup against the Chicago Bulls.  New York was able to take care of Miami without Anthony, but they don't want to make a habit out of playing without their star...

Knicks Execute Out-of-Bounds Play to Perfection

The New York Knicks beat the Denver Nuggets in Madison Square Garden Sunday night thanks to sinking 18 trey balls. But there was one brilliant out-of-bounds play that Knicks head coach Mike Woodson drew up late in the fourth quarter that was very Harlem Globetrotter-esque. The ball was inbounded to Carmelo Anthony from J.R. Smith. Melo then immediately handed it off to Jason Kidd...

Anthony leads Knicks past Nuggets

Carmelo Anthony returned from a two-game absence with 34 points against his former team, and the New York Knicks beat the Denver Nuggets 112-106 on Sunday night to remain the NBA's lone unbeaten team at home. Back in the starting lineup after missing two games with a cut on the middle finger of his left hand that required stitches, Anthony twice made baskets in the final 2:08...

George Karl: Carmelo Anthony is going to win a championship someday

George Karl has not had many good things to say about Carmelo Anthony since the Denver Nuggets traded him to the New York Knicks two seasons ago. Many have painted Carmelo as a selfish player who is unwilling to buy into the team mentality, and Karl has done nothing to change that perception. However, the Nuggets coach recently praised Anthony for changing his game. “I’ve said...

Switch pitcher could see action in MLB

29-year-old New York Yankees minor leaguer Pat Venditte normally wouldn’t be a player worth noticing. He’s been in the minors for the past seven seasons after the Yankees selected him in the 45th round of the 2007 amateur draft.  On the surface, Venditte is nothing more than your non-prospect who has bounced around in small towns in an attempt to make it to the Majors. That’s...
