Robert Swift no longer owns his house, but that doesn’t mean he’s moving out.

The Seattle Sonics draft bust lost his house to foreclosure last summer, and refuses to leave, according to KOMO News. The bank has sold the house to a new owner, who can’t get Swift out.

Swift was the No. 12 overall pick in 2004 out of high school. He spent four seasons in the league with the Sonics and Oklahoma City Thunder. The 27-year-old made $20 million during his career and purchased the house for $1.35 million in 2006.

The house has fallen into disrepair with empty beer cans littering the front yard. It also has cars sitting in the driveway that appear they haven’t been driven in some time.

The house has four beds and 4 1/2 baths. It was built in 2000 and sits on approximately 6,240 square feet.

Swift has until the end of the month before police remove him by force. KOMO news of Seattle tried to speak to Swift, but a woman answered the door claiming to be his girlfriend said he was asleep after taking some pills.

  • This is quite the story!
  • The epitome of the word Loser! Washed out of the NBA and has no skills or education to fall back on! Will most likely just be parasite on society for the rest of his miserable life.
  • There are failurs, and mistakes,I am 90 and have had a few.I still work, have been a mentor to over 208 young people. Have 5 adult children 13 grand and 15 great. Life is a trip thru heaven and hell if you believe. It,s the most wonderful trip of your life. remember all your choice. You have no idea how I have imagined being a big, professional athlete. Tiger has the guts and has not given up even with all of the hell! get to it MAN
  • Best response yet. Usually the losers are the calling other people the same while they point the finger..
  • just remove him already... just another loser, sorry you should have gone to school first and learned to do something after NBA. Guess its to late now.
  • Did you go to school? its should be it's and to late should be too late now...guess he isn't the only one it's too late for!
  • hoo r u the grammer pulice! Heres a reply that shuld tak most ov ur dae to decifher. ??? Git a lif and stop critisizing.....
  • Made $20 million in 2 years and bought a house for $1.35 and is going into foreclosure! Sounds like poor planning and no financial advisor available. Get real! Another one that has the $$$ handed to him because of his athletic skills and just threw it away because he thought it would never end. Stupid jerk!!!!!!
  • So what else is new?
  • Twenty million in earnings and he couldn't pay for a 1.3 million dollar house. Damn. I usually make 26,ooo and I am ahead on a 36,000 mortgage. And I don't owe anybody a dime.
  • Another reason that the NBA should not recuite right out of high school. The requirement should be the same as the NFL no less that 3 yrs. of college. That way the player might have a chance at a career. Of course I have to say that stupid is stupid and might not change with 30 yrs. of college.
  • This has nothing to do with being recruited from high school, do you see Kobe or Lebron or KG or Dwight Howard or Bynum or the other whole slew of player in this situation? There are probably actually more players that WENT to college that are in his boat than there are that jumped straight from hich school. In fact, most of the top players in the game right now have 1 year or less college and damn near all have less than your suggested 3 year min. This is just a player that was A) financially irresponsible or just plain bad with money or B) quite possible had some bad luck, OR both! For all we know he could have use his money to get medical attention for a friend or family member or he could be a Madoff Scam victem... Perhaps not, but the point is WE DON'T KNOW. Happy that you all are perfect human beings or at least feel that way while you are putting someone down. Wouldn't it be great if we lived in a world where all the comments were like "Hey, sorry to hear about your troubles, good luck, man."
  • Of money, talent, or wisdom, most of us are lucky to get more wisdom. Guys like me need to steer clear of envy. If I had money or talent.....I could be this guy.
  • I am here again, No one should give up his young life and education for the big league. You know very little and are not life experience enough to get into the big game. If you are good enough thereare other wasy to play until you get some life expereice behind you. My great GRandson plays soccer in Columbus, ohio. He wrote a wonderful letter about going out for
soccer to his grand dad, I got to reade it and the joy of his new men family coaches and what he is learning. DAm he is happy! I am proud as hell!
  • As for the lady who bought the house..."What were you thinking?"
The current occupant hasn't made payments in over a year, front and back yards IS trashed. And before he moves out(or forced), he can gut the place of plumbing, electrical, remove appliances, etc. Did you look at the place before buying??? BUT NO-o-o-o...all you saw was that the purchase price was cut in half. Did it ever occur to you lady that there is a reason it's half priced???
Good Luck when you get the place...Ha!
  • i went to the same HIGH SCHOOL as this guy, and truth is he never shoulda been drafted in the first place.. he has no shooting skills, all he can do is dunk. He only got drafted for his height except when you get to the nba all the boyz are tall. no joke, me along with plenty of people can shoot better than him, its too bad i aint 7 feet tall so i can be in the nba..except i wouldnt blow the $$$$

OKLAHOMA CITY When is Ronnie Brewer supposed to get here, anyway? It's kind of hard to wrap your mind around the fact there may not be a more-pressing question for this Oklahoma City team.
