Earlier this week, CBS Houston writer Claire Crawford wrote a story that raised the question of whether or not one of the Oklahoma City Thunder dancers is “too chunky” to be a cheerleader. The entire story is posted above, and you can read it by clicking each section to enlarge the image. “We are not trying to be ugly,” Crawford wrote. “We are just discussing what men like in women, specifically NBA cheerleaders.” Even if men do prefer a specific body type when it comes to cheerleaders, embarrassing the young lady seems totally out of line. CBS Houston probably realized that, which is why the story has been pulled. It even ended with a poll question asking readers if they felt she was perfect for the job, could use some “tightening” up, or has “no business” wearing a cheerleading outfit in front of that many people. Just a couple months ago, we learned the story of a Green Bay Packers cheerleader who took a stand against cyber bullying after reading all the nasty things that were written about her on Facebook. Fans are always going to be ruthless, but there’s no excuse for the media to perpetuate stereotypes and basically highlight a cheerleader who some may consider to not fit the “cheerleading prototype.” I don’t see how anyone thought this article was worth posting.

  • That girl is gorgeous.... Probably just Claire Crawford's jealousy that fueled the article. Notice that there are no pictures of Claire by her name on the article.....
  • If you like fat cheerleaders date them. I do not like them. If I want to see rolls of fat. I will go to the grocery store.
  • She is far from fat and does not have rolls. Get a grip she is a beautiful girl.
  • Is that where your wife works? I notice that you didn't mention anything about your significant other... Does he know you are so negative?
  • Great comeback to someone who is so ignorant. Way to slap back, Nick!
  • Nice!
  • This is a non story, people come in all sizes, if you don't like how she looks the watch the game. But for me, I would love to meet her and took her out for a big Midwest dinner including dessert.
  • is Claire Crawford a sports journalist? a fashion consultant? a pimp? her comments, on the physique of a visiting cheerleader, are needless, demeaning, and cruel. she's entitled to her opinion, but this has nothing to do with sports. beauty is in the eye of the beholder, if Crawford doesn't like looking at this girl, she should keep her eye on the ball, and her judgemental mouth shut.
  • What a totally offensive story. It would seem to me that a woman writer would have a little more compassion and a lot more sense than to write that type of pandering drivel. WAKE-UP.
  • Someone should write an article on whether Claire Crawford is too fat or dumb to write an article.
  • Who wants to wager ole Claire is probably the size of the Chesapeake Arena?
  • Well...I can see that a lot of people trashed the author without taking the time to read her story first. Typical...in too much of a hurry to get your 2 cents worth down on the comment board. Well...your 2 cents? LOL!!! Ain't worth two peas!

The article was pretty much favoring HER...and ridiculing those who thought she was less than desirable. Kind of like many who posted a tirade against the author of the story. what a sad bunch of losers!

And FYI...she's just fine. Cute as can be! Too bad she works for a worthless piece of sht like Bennett!
  • she is sexy, no doubt about that...I would be watching her more than the game! I don't like skinny cheerleaders...good for her...I would be proud if she were my girlfriend.
  • Well as they say, ya gotta have a little cushion for the push-in, and there's nothing wrong with that.I for one like some substance on my women instead of being so thin that if they stand sideways in a wind storm you might not see-um.
  • Get your eyes checked if you see this honey bun as fat. If anything she is pleasingly plump and I love it. For those of you that like slender ladies, they say that the closer to the bone the sweeter the meat. To each his own. I'll take one like this lovely lady so I know I got something to hold next to me. Boy do I enjoy the looks of her.
  • WTF???? She is really nice. ALOT of men like full figured women and she is far from full figured. TOOOO MANY women want to be like rails.....and that is not good!!!
  • I like her body, it perfect, not thin, has some meat on the bone. Obviously some men like to see bone on thier ribs. wow! She's a little flat chested but some implants will do.
  • if she's so supporter of this cheerleader why did CBS Sports in Houston pull the article.

Adrian Peterson still has ‘concerns’ about Vikings

Adrian Peterson still has concerns about the Minnesota Vikings even after meeting with team representatives Wednesday. Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer and GM Rick Spielman flew to Houston to meet privately with Peterson, likely to persuade the All-Pro running back to return to the team. Peterson’s status as a face of the franchise and relationship...Read More

LSU S blasts Tigers fans for leaving game early

These LSU fans aren’t loyal. That’s what Tigers’ safety Jamal Adams thinks, anyway.  Wednesday evening, LSU’s men’s basketball team lost to Tennessee on senior night, 78-63. Many Tigers’ fans were seen departing from the Pete Maravich Assembly Center with minutes to go in the contest.  This did not please Adams, a 6-foot, 206-pound rising sophomore on the LSU football...

Nobody’s safe in the NFL and nothing is sacred

Part of the reason that the signing of Josh McCown was such big news in Cleveland is because it meant the end of Brian Hoyer. As a player, there’s nothing worth talking about with Brian. Even as I’ve supported him as a player, I only did so while acknowledging that in a given year, he could be, at best, a mediocre quarterback. For other fans it went deeper because Brian Hoyer...

UMass to retire jersey in honor of John Calipari

The University of Massachusetts’ men’s basketball program announced Wednesday evening it will be honoring former coach John Calipari with a retired jersey.  Calipari, 56, coached at UMass from 1988-96, leading the Minutemen to the Final Four in 1996. The team’s Final Four appearance was later revoked from the record books when it was discovered that star center Marcus Camby...

Houston Texans are moving on from Andre Johnson

Andre Johnson has a good chance of winding up in the Pro Football Hall of Fame down the road. Johnson, who has starred with the Houston Texans over the past 12 seasons, is about to become a free agent after the organization justifiably decided he is not worth the $16.14 million cap hit in 2015. By cutting Johnson, the Texans will save $8.8 million against the cap while also saying...
