Bill Simmons was part of ESPN’s team covering the NBA Draft live inside the Barclays Center Thursday night and at one point he suggested that new Los Angeles Clippers coach Doc Rivers had quit on the Boston Celtics. Well, when ESPN interviewed Rivers later in the evening to discuss the trade that sent Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Jason Terry to the Brooklyn Nets, he also Simmons’ claims. Enjoy the video: I’ve always thought Simmons was an idiot as well, but it was pretty shocking that Rivers went there on national television. Hilarious, but shocking. The post Video: Doc Rivers calls Bills Simmons an idiot appeared first on Midwest Sports Fans.

  • Well, Doc has finally stated publicly what I've wanted to say. In essence, Bill, get a clue!
  • I'll say it... You're an idiot. This guy doesn't think he's going to get called on his comments. When he does he's like a deer in the headlites. And it's apparent he makes the other commentators uncomfortable. This isn't the 1st time. Can his butt.
  • The problem is these journalists need to be journalists, and stop being fans on the air. Simmons is a Celtic fan, and he made it personal with his comment about Rivers "quitting" on the Celtics. These are the same guys that sit on the air and talk about coaches that "should" be fired, etc. This is business, and just because it happened on your favorite team doesn't make it credible for him to say something like that on the air. Rivers did an outstanding job with the Celts, but everyone moves on at some point. When coaches don't pull off a rebuild quick enough, they get fired. The team "quits" on them. They came to a mutually agreed upon solution. I love Simmons' writing, but that same wit doesn't come across on tv. He tries too hard sometimes to be provocative.

Did Heat offer Dwyane Wade less than $10 million per season?

This embed is invalid   " /> BOSTON — The obituary is written. USA Women’s World Cup roster verdict: No excuse not to win

The conditions are in place for the United States women’s national soccer team to win the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup.   Team USA’s roster has enough talent, experience and versatility to prevail against any of the 23 teams standing in the way of its first world championship since 1999.
