Multiple Teams Interested In J.R. Smith

According to SI.com, there are multiple teams interested in guard J.R. Smith, especially since Smith is due to return from China later this week. The Los Angeles Clippers and the New York Knicks are both possible destinations for Smith. The Minnesota Timberwolves are also reportedly interested in the 26-year old as well. Minnesota can offer Smith the most money with their $5 million midlevel exception while New York can only offer Smith $2.5 million and Los Angeles can only offer Smith the veteran’s minimum. Smith is not in Minnesota’s plans according to a team source. Another team that could be interested in Smith are the Los Angeles Lakers.
