Philadelphia 76ers Blog:
Finally the NBA players and owners have come to their senses and it appears that the 2011-2012 season will exist. It is coming a little late, but believe me basketball fans are more than ready to see some NBA action. Christmas Day is looking like the kick-off date if the finishing touches of the agreement are worked out and approved. For the Sixers, the search for a new mascot is underway as Hip Hop is no more. Jeff Capel joins the coaching staff as an assistant coach. New ownership starts a new era for the Philadelphia 76ers. New owner John Harris and other minority owners will look to bring some old magic back to the franchise. When the season starts, it should be interest television to watch as teams will play a projected 66 game season. This will make the regular season even more important for teams to position themselves for a playoff run. The Sixers look to make another trip to the post season and build off last year's solid season.
