NBA championship odds have Cleveland as the favorite to win the title this year, and when you have the best basketball player on the planet on your side, it makes the job a little bit easier. The Cavaliers will head to Chicago for Game 3 of their first-round series against the Bulls, who need to pull out all the stops to avoid going three games down.
Cavaliers vs Bulls odds – Thursday, April 21, 7:00 PM ET
LeBron James was out of control during the Cavaliers’ 112-102 win to give them a 2-0 lead in the series, as he went for 40 points, eight boards and eight assists, and he shot 16-of-23 from the field. James, the likely repeat winner of the MVP award, had 15 points in the fourth quarter to crush any dreams that the Bulls had of coming back. Antawn Jamison added 14 points, while Mo Williams and Jamario Moon had 12 points apiece for the Cavaliers, who shot a blistering 56.3% from the field, and they hit half of their 20 three-point attempts. Moon, who shot 32% from beyond the arc during the season, nailed four of his five three-point attempts and seemed to make most of his shots when the Bulls were making a run.
Joakim Noah made some less-than-flattering remarks about the city of Cleveland before the game and was booed every time he touched the ball, but ever since he played at Florida, Noah was the type of player who thrives on being the bad guy, and he had 25 points and 13 boards to lead the Bulls. Derrick Rose was next with 23 points and eight assists, while Luol Deng had 20 points, and the Bulls had just four turnovers. Chances are, they would have beaten the Cavaliers if James had not decided to take over, but it is what it is.
NBA betting odds will probably favor the Cavaliers on the road as they have won four of their last six in Chicago, and in their one-point loss to the Bulls in the Windy City on April 8th, James and Shaquille O’Neal weren’t playing. The Cavaliers still haven’t played their best basketball, and it probably will take a couple of games to get their rhythm back as they have had 29 turnovers in the first two games of the series, and a lot of that is due to James sitting out the last four games of the regular season (all losses by Cleveland). If the Bulls are going to steal one in this series, it’s looking like it’ll be in Chicago, but at the end of Game 2, we saw a LeBron James who is on a mission, and he’ll be the difference once again. Go with the Cavaliers when you’re betting on sports on Thursday.
