Last week, the NBA Board of Governors, no doubt carrying out strict marching orders from David Stern, voted to block relocation of the Kings from Sacramento to Seattle. In doing so, they also scuttled a potential sale of the Kings to a group led by Chris Hansen. Instead, the Maloof brothers will sell to a group headed by Vivek Ranadive. Tuesday, another penny dropped. Appearing on the Dan Patrick Show, former Bulls and Lakers coach Phil Jackson revealed that a deal was in place for him to take a role in the organization. Per the Seattle Times(13:10 mark of the video: “I had an agreement with the guy that put the deal together for Seattle Chris Hansen,” Jackson said. “I thought he was dynamic. I thought he had great ideas. He went through the whole process of getting an arena. He did everything right except win the franchise. “But his vision I could buy into. I thought he had the right vision for a team. And he made basically the offer of take what you want to take as a job. As a consultant? If you want to be an owner, be a part owner. Be a consultant?
