I’m still planning to wait until tomorrow to unleash my incredible, unparalleled NBA Draft Preview on your asses, but I’m pretty happy that the Houston Rockets have finally stirred the pot and created some excitement for us fans of franchises that blow. Apparently the Rockets are hellbent on wrangling as many first round draft picks as they can, and they took one step closer to fruition of their diabolical plan today when they shipped Chase Budinger to the Minnesota Timberwolves for the No. 18 pick. This was perhaps the best response I saw regarding that trade. Now the Rockets have the 14th, 16th, and 18th picks in Thursday night’s draft, and it’s no secret at all that they covet disgruntled drama queen Dwight Howard, who may or may not have once again told the Orlando Magic that he wants to be traded to the Brooklyn Nets. So are those three picks enough to get Howard? Houston’s first-round assets will create an intriguing proposition for the Magic and their new general manager, Ro...

Time to trade Howard is now

When the Orlando Magic went out without so much as a whimper during the first round of the NBA playoffs in May, the calls for change in Central Florida rang louder than they ever have before. The current state of things wasn't working, and the increasingly impatient fanbase wanted to see something -- anything -- new: A new coach, a new GM, new players and a new direction. Now...

Houston Rockets stockpiling draft picks in hope of landing Dwight Howard

Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey has a reputation for acquiring assets.  That is apparently what he is planning on doing in the days leading up to the 2012 NBA Draft in hopes of landing Dwight Howard via trade from the Orlando Magic.  The Rockets have added a third first round draft pick from the Minnesota Timberwolves, sending swingman Chase Budinger north. Houston...

Along with moving up in the draft, the Rockets will receive Shaun Livingston, Jon Leuer and Jon Brockman from Milwaukee. Houston has been busy making moves in the NBA draft. Dwight Howard Likely to Be Traded According to Oddsmakers

The 2012 NBA draft concludes the basketball season on Thursday night, and while the draft is considered to be the deepest in years, it only has one expected franchise player: Kentucky center Anthony Davis. It’s a foregone conclusion that Davis, the national player of the year last season as a freshman for the champion Wildcats, will go No. 1 overall to the New Orleans Hornets....

Sick Ball Handling by Pat the Roc

One of my favorite bands, Matt & Kim, just came out with a new music video for the song “Let’s Go” that is not only relevant to the world of sports but also badass at the same time. I’d like to introduce you to Pat the Roc, one of the sickest ball handlers/dribblers that you’ll ever see (he comes out at the 20 second mark and starts breaking it down at 37 seconds)....

Pau Gasol Not Targeted By Rockets

The Rockets have moved past their December pursuit of Pau Gasol and are targeting Dwight Howard via trade.

Five potential sleepers in tonight's Draft

By now, everyone knows the NBA Draft is an inexact science. For every Dwight Howard, there is a Kwame Brown. For every Curtis Borchardt, there is an Al Jefferson. And so on and so forth. The point is, there are plenty of players with lots of talent who get passed up for whatever reason -- whether it be potential red flags, concerns about athleticism or not having an "NBA body...
