When I first read this story on Jocks and Stiletto Jill I thought it had to be a joke.

The reason being the odds of a athlete being faithful is about as a long of a shot as Buster Douglas beating Mike Tyson.

As I continued reading the more interesting the story became. Take a look about former NBA Player Wayne Simien (Simien is now a pastor and to be perfectly honest I don’t remember any of his time with the Heat):

“I remember walking in (to the Heat). They were like ‘This dude’s a Christian. Give him two weeks until he’s on South Beach in a strip club with me, give him such and such amount of time until he meets Suzie in LA and does yada yada yada.’ They were taking bets on me, basically, cash-money bets right in front of me as far as how long it would take for me to have a hiccup or whatever.”

Simien goes on to say while he wasn’t a virgin when he met now wife, but didn’t kiss her until that got married.

So Simien is the modern day version of AC Green (but he had sex a few times before he was “saved”).

Of course I am being cynical in saying I don’t believe Simien, but that is just my personal opinion. The fact his teammates were taking bets in front of him I think is hilarious. I wonder what were the odds that he wouldn’t do it?

27-1?

50-1?

100-1?

If we take him at face value we now have one former athlete who hasn’t cheated on his wife. One out of 20,000.
