Despite being one of the weakest drafts in the history of the NBA, a select few athletes out of the 2009 rookie class are undoubtedly bound to make an immediate impact for numerous playoff contending teams during the upcoming season.1. DeMar DeRozan (SG/SF, TOR) Turning 20 years old just two days ago, the high-flying DeRozan enters the '09-'10 with extremely high expectations. With the ability to literally fly through the air, finish around the basket strong, defend multiple positions, and use his speed to his utmost advantage, the young gun is anticipated to begin the season at the SG position and promptly average consistent starters minutes. If DeRozan can maintain his composure, produce at an efficient level, and translate his game to the NBA level, he will not only highly contribute to the Raptor's success, but also help the squad fight for a serious playoff run as well. Since it is only offseason, only time can tell, but with DeRozan's impressive arsenal, it is too hard to not place him at number one.2. DeJuan Blair (PF, SA) After being selected surprisingly late (37th overall) in the 2009 NBA Draft, Blair heads into his rookie campaign with numerous veterans monitoring his every move.During his sophomore season at Pitt, Blair improved his overall game tremendously, averaging 15.7 PPG, 12.3 RPG (5.6 OFF rebounds, leading the nation), 1.5 SPG, and 1.0 BPG (recording 21 double-doubles, second best in the conference).With well established players such as Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Richard Jefferson, Manu Ginobili, and especially Antonio McDyess on the Spurs roster, Blair will quickly learn the ins and outs of the NBA and immediately make a major impact for San Antonio this season.Standing 6'7" and weighing 265 lbs, Blair has the superb rebounding skills to emerge as an absolute beast in the paint, and although a bit undersized, he will progressively adjust to the NBA environment in no time. 3.
