Los Angeles Lakers center Andrew Bynum had his season-opening five-game suspension reduced one game by the NBA.
The league also trimmed one game off Detroit Pistons forward Charlie Villanueva's five-game suspension.
Bynum was punished for delivering an elbow to the ribs of Dallas Mavericks guard J.J. Barea in last season's playoffs.
He was ejected from the game and also fined $25,000 for removing his jersey while still on the court.
Bynum will be eligible to return for the Lakers' game against Denver on Dec. 31.
Villanueva had been suspended for initiating an on-court altercation with Ryan Hollins of the Cleveland Cavaliers and attempting to escalate the altercation by entering the Cavaliers' locker room.
He already served one game of the suspension last season so will have to sit out the first three games this season.

Look, I don’t know what Garnett actually said to Villanueva, or why a future Hall of Famer keeps lowering himself to front-running trash-talk sessions with mediocre players on lottery teams during blowouts.
