Streakbusters: The Chicago Bulls ends another winning streak in the victory over the New York Knicks to complete a season sweep of their potential second round match up of the NBA playoffs. Carmelo Anthony showed no signs of slowing down on a back-to-back, continuing his offensive dominance with a game-high 36 points on 13 of 24 shooting and 19 rebounds (the most he has ever had as a Knick) to become the first Knick to score 35+ points in 6 straight games. J.R. Smith came off the bench for 28 points (on a rather inefficient 27 shots) and 14 boards. The Bulls were supposed to become the 14th victim of the New York streak. But instead, they fought back from a 15 point deficit in the third to the cut the lead to 2, on 11 of Jimmy Butler’s 22 points, (who also finished with 14 boards) to begin fourth quarter. Where little Nate Robinson took over, exploding for 18 of his total 35 (10 of 18) in the final period. But Nate is not Nate unless he does somethin...
BEST OF MAXIM
Though the Knicks' thirteen game winning streak was snapped in Chicago, and the team went all out through overtime trying to earn themselves a victory that never came, it's easy to see they are (as short-handed as they may be) transitioning into playoff mode with their eyes on a long-term run.Though he, like many of his teammates, exhausted himself against Chicago a bit,...
The Bulls and Knicks were forced to play small ball on Thursday night thanks to a wrath of injuries to both teams. The Bulls did have Carlos Boozer to battle the boards where he matched up under the rim plenty of times with Carmelo Anthony who had a season-high 19 rebounds. Boozer countered with 15 of his own, but Melo doesn’t think the Bulls forward knows what he’s doing...
Carmelo Anthony scored 31 points with 14 rebounds in just three quarters and the New York Knicks bounced back after having their winning streak stopped at 13 games one night earlier by beating the Cleveland Cavaliers 101-91 on Friday night.
Anthony's streak of scoring at least 35 points ended at six games as New York coach Mike Woodson chose to rest the All-Star forward the...
DON'T RUSH THINGS
Knicks star Carmelo Anthony believes Bulls point guard Derrick Rose should only return to the court when he's ready, saying, "I wish y’all would stop rushing Derrick back."
For quite sometime, the Knicks were the joke of the NBA.
From the disaster that was Isiah Thomas, blowing up the team for Carmelo Anthony to to playoff futility it was only a matter of time before the team can return to prominance -- and their return as a top-team in the NBA has arrived.
This season, the Knicks have eclipsed 50-wins, and won their first division (Atlantic...
Carmelo Anthony said he feels bad for Derrick Rose and the pressure he’s faced to come back from outsiders who aren’t in the Bulls’ star’s shoes. Though he’s been practicing and was cleared to play in March, Rose has missed the entire season up to this point and is not expected to play when the Knicks & Bulls face-off on Thursday night.
According to the New York Post...
Much success has been coming the Knicks way of late. A 50-game winning season since 1994, second seed in the playoffs, a strong squad led by Carmelo Anthony and versus the Bulls last night, some NBA history.
During the first half in last night's game in Chicago, the Knicks connected on seven three-pointers which added to their team total of 844 three-pointers made in a...
Carmelo has some words for fans and media, who are trying to see THE RETURN of Derrick Rose sooner or later.
“I wish y’all would stop rushing Derrick back,” ”Please. He shouldn’t come back until he’s about 110 percent ready. If he can’t compete at a high level, then what’s a couple more months going to do? What’s two more months going to do? I don’t think he...
With the New York Knicks securing the Atlantic Division for the first time since 1994, plenty of speculation has surfaced regarding their capability of winning a NBA Championship. Carmelo Anthony has once again placed himself in the Most Valuable Player discussion in the midst of the Knicks impressive 13-game winning streak. Carmelo actually missed the Knicks first win against the...
Last night, the Cavaliers fell to the New York Knicks 101-91, largely due to the stellar performances of New York’s 1-2 punch of Carmelo Anthony and J.R. Smith (31 points each). Rather than a traditional recap, I thought I’d take a stab at looking at some of the crazy cross-matchups that occurred in this game’s, primarily centered around Anthony playing the power forward position...
