The NBA obviously was unhappy with an ugly scene that played out during Tuesday night’s Orlando Magic-Minnesota Timberwolves game. But would the league go so far as to scrub it from its League Pass archives?

A confrontation between Arron Afflalo and Nemanja Bjelica escalated to such a point that Afflalo threw a punch during the second-quarter altercation. Afflalo’s attempt at landing a wild haymaker appeared to make contact with the back of Bjelica’s head, after which the Wolves forward put the Magic guard in a headlock. The two were ultimately separated.

The incident followed both players being assessed technical four minutes earlier, and both were ejected from the game.

Now it appears the NBA has removed the entire altercation from both the Magic’s and Timberwolves’ League Pass archives.

Dime Mag has put together a clip documenting how the footage has been scrubbed.

The NBA edited out Afflalo’s punch from its League Pass archive…

It’s obvious something was removed given the sudden and obvious cut. It’s odd the NBA would even bother to sanitize the scene, since a simple search on the Internet and the footage can be found with ease.

That said, it’s not like the NBA is not going to address the incident, whether it be fines, suspensions or both. Bjelica insisted after the Wolves’ 108-102 loss that his actions came in self-defense.

“I don’t want to feel like a victim here, that’s part of the game,” Bjelica said, via ESPN. “But he took a swing at me, and I was just trying to protect myself, first of all, and to calm him down because he was wild.

“I don’t know what’s wrong with that guy, but at that point I have to protect myself and my family.”

Afflalo was unavailable for comment after the game. But it stands to reason he’ll be hearing from the league soon enough. Perhaps Bjelica will as well. However, it goes without saying the NBA made a strange decision with its League Pass feeds.
