NEW YORK -- Brook Lopez scored 22 points, and teammates Joe Johnson and Deron Williams chipped in with 21 points each, leading the Brooklyn Nets to their seventh straight victory, a 113-106 decision over the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday night at the Barclays Center. The win gave interim Nets coach P.J. Carlesimo a 9-1 record since he took over for Avery Johnson last month. It also allowed Brooklyn (23-15) to remain undefeated in 2013, having won all seven games in the New Year. Toronto (14-24) lost for the second straight time. Lopez went 10-for-10 from the free-throw line, while Williams hit all eight of his foul shots. The Nets also received solid performances off the bench from Andray Blatche, who scored 14 points, and little-used Mirza Teletovic, who had 10, all in a five-minute span late in the second quarter. The Raptors were led by Kyle Lowry, who scored 19 of his 21 points in the fourth quarter, including four straight 3-pointers. He returned to action after it was rep...

The Brooklyn Nets continue to play inspired basketball since the firing of Avery Johnson. After having 3 straight 20+ point wins, which set a franchise mark, the Nets had a taller order against the 3rd best team in the East, the Indiana Pacers. Yet a strong second half, especially in the 4th, saw the Nets stretch their win streak to a season-high 6 games. Meanwhile, they have vaulted...
In terms of statistics, Brooklyn Nets point guard Deron Williams is having one of his worst years as a pro. He has openly admitted that he has struggled to learn a new offense since leaving the Utah Jazz, and as a result he is averaging only 16.8 points and 7.7 assists per game. Despite all that, Williams was second in the Eastern Conference All-Star voting earlier this month, trailing...
The Brooklyn Nets owned by Russian bazillionaire Mikhail Prokhorov. So how much do they know about anything Russia? The answer: nyet.
Brook Lopez (#11), spent two years at Stanford and wasn’t positive where Russia is.

Kyle Lowry dominated in just 15 minutes tonight. The Toronto Raptors point guard sprained his ankle in the first half and wasn't expected to return. Lowry's status is up in the air for Wednesday...
Just three weeks ago, the Brooklyn Nets owned a .500 record and fired their coach. Now, they're in fourth place in the Eastern Conference and possess the NBA's longest active winning streak.
The Atlanta Hawks, meanwhile, were 10 games over the break-even mark on New Year's Day but have earned just one win since.
In the opener of a home-and-home series, the Nets go for...
NEW YORK -- P.J. Carlesimo took a glance at the final stat sheet after his Nets won for the seventh straight time and ninth time out of 10 under his watch, and he marveled at the fact that Brooklyn indeed defeated the Toronto Raptors. Jose Calderon has not made any decision where he wants to play next season and will evaluate the situation when he becomes an unrestricted free agent.
Raptors rookie Terrence Ross only had four points in Tuesday night’s match up against the Brooklyn Nets. But the reverse putback dunk that was responsible for a pair of those points, was a thing of beauty.
Whose in this year’s dunk contest? Gerald Green? Paul George? WOuld Terrence Ross be someone you want to see on the “All-Star Saturday Night” stage?

Toronto Raptors guard Terence Ross had a nice one-handed putback reverse dunk during the final minutes of Tuesday night's 113-106 loss to the Brooklyn Nets at the Barclays Center.
Ross' dunk came off a missed 17-foot shot by teammate John Lucas, and even the Nets fans seemed to be impressed.

TORONTO -- Carlos Boozer scored a season-high 36 points but despite leading by 19 points during the third quarter the Chicago Bulls needed overtime to defeat the Toronto Raptors 107-105 Wednesday before a crowd of 18,674 at Air Canada Centre. Luol Deng hit an 18-foot pull-up jumper with 3.3 seconds to snap a tie and give the Bulls their hard-earned win. But not until the Raptors...
