TORONTO -- The Toronto Raptors were short-handed, but it was the Brooklyn Nets who came up short for the first half of their game at Air Canada Centre on Wednesday. However, the Nets took advantage the Raptors' situation in the second half. Joe Johnson scored 19 of his 23 points after the break, and Brooklyn came away with a 94-88 victory before a crowd of 18,847. A combination of injuries and a suspension left the Raptors with nine players -- only eight played -- and Toronto's limitations began to show in the third quarter. Meanwhile, Brooklyn picked up its game in the third quarter. "Our energy in the first half was low," Nets coach Avery Johnson said. "It looked like we were kind of feeling sorry for ourselves and they were out there playing free and easy. ... I made a few adjustments, and (Deron) Williams had a little talk with them on the court before the third quarter, and they responded." The Nets (12-9) responded well enough to end a fiv...

In last night’s Raptors-Trailblazers game, Raptors forward Amir Johnson briefly lost his mind. In a sequence that can only be explained as bizarre, Johnson tried his best to take away the ball from the referee after a made free throw.

Not sure what it is about the Toronto Raptors, but when players go there, they go there to die. Nothing good comes out of that place. They really need to move that squad back to the USA. Check out this weird ejection of power forward Amir Johnson last night. The Raptors were taking on the Portland Trail Blazers and J.J. Hickson was on the free throw line. After his first...
The NBA suspended Toronto forward Amir Johnson for one game without pay for tossing his mouthpiece at a referee during a game. Johnson was to sit out the Raptors' home game Wednesday night against Brooklyn after the league handed down the suspension late Tuesday night. Losing the game check will cost Johnson approximately $73,000. The incident occurred Monday night during...
Everyone has already seen the video of Toronto Raptors’ forward, Amir Johnson not sharing the ball with a referee and throwing a temper tantrum like a kid at Toys R Us. What was he thinking? If there is one rule in sports, it is that you do not tough the refs. It does not matter if he makes a bad call, says something annoying or refuses to give back your ball. Seriously this was...
Raptors’ Amir Johnson refuses to let go of the basketball after a teammates’ made free throw and gets tangled up with the referee David Jones, who in return tosses him out of the game. Johnson completely loses his cool and takes his mouthpiece out of his mouth and throws it at the refs backside. Can you say…suspension?
Despite towering over referee David Jones and having 30+ years on him, Toronto Raptors forward Amir Johnson lost their little game of tug of war Monday night.
Following a made free throw from Trailblazers forward J.J. Hickson, Jones grabbed the ball after it hit the floor. For some reason, Johnson felt like he needed to caress the ball, so tried to grab it from the official. ...
