New Jersey Nets will be the 6-8 seed in the east

The trades: the new jersey nets may be rebuilding which is pretty obvious considering the Kidd deal and the Jefferson Deal. Looking at the trades they got some great potential by getting devin a great point guard now and soon to be even better. harris does not have to deal with the constant nagging from his former coach avery johnson(now unemployed because of the second straight first round lost). Now he has a loose coach in lawrence frank who is changing his playbook into a push and pop style which is harris's game. With the new style harris will get more assist passing it to another guy the nets recieved in a trade with a promising future Yi Jianlian. Yi in my mind is looking at a great season with the nets hes happy with being in a big market team and with no definent third scorer on the nets behind V.C and D.H i expect Yi to score like he did in the preseason game against the heat on Sunday. My projection is 15 or so ppg, with 7-8 rpg, 3 assist and maybe a block every night out for Yi. Now for Harris i can see him giving good numbers like 17 ppg, 8 assist, 3 boards and 2 steals a night. The jefferson deal also brought in veteran Bobby simmons who everyone seems to see as the starting small forward and the third scorer but i think he will be the starting 3 but not the third scorer on the team i just see him as 10 points (maybe) only because of the new offense with his ability to shoot the 3 ball from the corner. The center: I haven't yet chosen the 5 I have it as a toss up between Boone and Lopez i am leaning more towards Lopez if not from the begining of the season or towards the middle getting the job and the majority of the minutes with boone getting his minutes but not as much. I see Lopez giving the Nets 11 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 blocks a night with boone giving what he gave them last year. Sean williams will get some time here and at the four so will Ryan anderson who i think will have a great season. Free agents signings: The Nets signed Jarvis Hayes, Eduardo Najera, and keeyon dooling. I see hayes playing some time at the 2 and the 3 off the bench because the nets mostly signed him for veteran leadership to the younge guys after all there are 7 guys with 2 years or less of experience. Im expecting much of the same for Najera except at the 3 and the 4 he is a nice bench player who will show the "kids on the team" how to be a vet. Keyon is going to be the backup point and maybe sometime as a combo guard and is another vet for the "Kids" to look up to. The Rookies: Ryan, CDR, Brook oh yeah the Nets also had a good draft day. Brook i already mentioned, so off to the 21st pick in Ryan who i said will be good off the bench playing the 3 and the 4 with his ability to shoot the new offense will help him succeed with the Nets. CDR was the 40th pick int the draft which puts a chip on his shoulder, and I see him giving the Nets a spark off the bench everynight much like he did in London Last week. CDR will also have his old memphis offense that Frank is inserting into the team. The star: Last but definetely not least Vince Carter the only head from last years three headed monster. I see carter taking on that leadership role very well and taking or maybe even creating the big shots in the 4th quarter. He is the big reason why i see the Nets making the Playoffs it all has do to with how he does being the leader. I see carter with 20-24 ppg, 5 rebs, 6-7 assist and a steal a night he needs to pick up his defense and lead the way in order for the Nets to be successful. The result: I see the Nets ending with about 38-41 winds and the seventh seed in the east if my the players i mentioned above do what i predicted. if Not the nets can look forward to another high draft pick and they might trade V.C to the Lakers or the Clippers for Odom or Cuttino Mobley and tim thomas for some even greater salry cap space for the summer of 2010.
