Outside the Boxscore:
Since the NBA had the night off last night, we here at Outside the Boxscore were devoid of any professional slam dunks.
However, today is another day and New Orleans Hornets center Anthony Davis provided us with a good effort against the Chicago Bulls.
Watch as the first pick of the 2012 NBA Draft throws down a one-handed dunk from teammate Greivis Vasquez:

Anthony Davis did not play much for most of his first month or so in the NBA thanks to some injuries. As a result I think the Hornets have made a point to hold back on his minutes as he gets acclimated to the pro game.
He is still having a solid rookie season with 12.5 points and 7.5 boards a game in just under 28 minutes a game. It isn't going to make him competitive for...
The New Orleans Hornets are open to trading Eric Gordon.
ESPN's Chris Broussard reported that Gordon is "available," but unlikely to be moved because other clubs are "concerned about EG's health going forward."
Yahoo Sports' Marc Spears reported that the Hornets Pelicans will "explore potential deals for him during the off-season."...

Nate Robinson, who lost his title of “Only Washington Husky To Win The Slam Dunk Contest” over All-Star Weekend, was back in action with the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday, taking on the New Orleans Hornets in the Big Easy. Before the Bulls arrived at New Orleans Arena, some slight modifications were made to the visitor’s locker room in order to accommodate the diminutive guard ...

It’s clear that the New Orleans Hornets and Eric Gordon both need a breath of fresh air. The two parties have had a tenuous relationship, at best, since the star shooting guard joined the club in the winter of 2011. The team has received little return on its investment, so it’s not surprising to hear that the 24-year-old is on the block and could be...
For anyone that was watching the game, that’s is exactly what happened. Kyrie scored 20 points in the 7 minutes of the 4th quarter.
“Kyrie really took the game over and put his team on his back. But we did a bad job trying to be physical with him. We just let him walk in the lane and get buckets. You’ve got to take some hard fouls and make guys earn it.”
The Hornets are expected to keep Eric Gordon through the trade deadline.
Eric Gordon had made a big deal in the off-season that he wanted to say adios to New Orleans, and hello to Phoenix. Obviously, that didn’t happen, but his name has popped up in trade rumors via John Reid of NOLA.com. Sources confirm the Hornets would be interested in any trade deal with the Golden [...]The post NBA Rumor: New Orleans Hornets, Golden State Warriors Discussing Eric...
The staff of the New Orleans Hornets really were considerate to Nate Robinson and his “small stature”. Check out the modifications they made to the visiting Chicago Bills locker room on Tuesday.
When you actually think about it, being 5’9 isn’t that short for the average American male. But I guess when you’re in the NBA it’s like being the size of Snooki.
If I was Nate...
Reports indiciate that Hornets’ guard, Eric Gordon is available and that the team is interested in a deal that would bring Klay Thompson to New Orleans. The Warriors have shown no mutual interest in any such offer.
According to the Times-Picayune:
Sources confirm the Hornets would be interested in any trade deal with the Golden State Warriors that would include second-year shooting...
Eric Gordon tried to leave the franchise in the offseason for the Suns with a four-year, $58 million offer sheet that the Hornets matched.
The New Orleans Hornets made some modifications to their locker room before the Chicago Bulls arrived. Instead of the normal sized locker, 5’9” Nate Robinson, got some modifications to his from the Hornets Pelicans’ ball boy.

Al-Farouq Aminu steals the ball and Anthony Davis finishes with a big one-handed slam.

The Cavs return from the All-Star break with the idea of actually winning. Not that they havent been trying before, but sometimes, all a young team needs is the excitement of All-Star weekend (which four of the Cavs starters received) to get a fresh perspective on what it takes to be great. The Hornets are expected to be without starting guard Eric Gordon, who will sit...
