The New Orleans Hornets were victorious in their first of only two preseason games over the host Memphis Grizzlies. Newly acquired Eric Gordon, Chris Kaman, and Al-Farouq Amino were all absent from the game as they had just arrived in New Orleans shortly before. So we got to see a total of five players that are under contract with New Orleans actually play in this game, the rest are players fighting for a spot on the roster. Jarrett Jack, the new starting point guard now that Chris Paul is out of town led the charge for the Hornets with 24 points on 8 of 14 shooting and added 6 assists. Emeka Okafor and Quincy Pondexter each chipped in 12 points a piece, Trevor Ariza dropped in 11, and Marco Belinelli put in 9 points.
