Well things just seem to be going from bad to worse for the New Orleans Hornets as now star shooting guard Eric Gordon will now miss 2-3 weeks.  Gordon who finally returned to the lineup after missing four games in the loss to the Philadelphia 76ers saw his knee become inflamed.  New Orleans now has a total of three players sitting on the bench with injuries just six games into the young season.  Newly acquired Xavier Henry came to the team already injured, Trevor Ariza is sitting out due to a strained groin, and now Eric Gordon with an enflammed knee.

So we should be getting an extended look at Al-Farouq Aminu playing at the small forward spot who will start once again in place of Ariza, and once again Marco Belinelli takes Eric Gordon’s spot in the lineup.  Beli has been downright terrible so far this season shooting the ball, the Hornets will look to Jarrett Jack to once again provide offense.  They will need to rely very heavily on their defense to create shots even more with the top offensive threat out for an extended period of time.

So as the Hornets have already been struggling do not expect any significant changes and the team will almost no doubt not win very many games.  The team will fight in every game under Monty, but there just is not enough fire power in this lineup.  Even with a poor record the team will have a better shot at landing a top 5 pick in next year’s loaded draft.  As the trade deadline gets closer and if the team has not righted the ship, expect this team to be active in moving some of the veteran players to playoff contending teams.  Trevor Ariza, Chris Kaman, Emeka Okafor, or even Jarrett Jack could possibly moved to go younger.  Right now it is hard to tell obviously as the season is still very young.
