Practice had ended Thursday afternoon at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, but the court was still full of players. There were no lingerers, either. The young Sixers, a team with no one older than 25, were getting after it. And this was after a film session and a full practice. It’s one thing to have such a bevy of activity during a lull in the schedule, but the Sixers have been pretty busy. They just completed a road trip where they played three games in four days and opened another stretch of three games in four days on Wednesday night. Thursday could have been an easy one for the Sixers. Only it wasn’t, and by their choice, too. “It’s a fantastic opportunity for everybody in this gym to come into an NBA environment and get some minutes, get seen, get put into a game, know the direction that this program is heading,” coach Brett Brown said. “And that’s the opportunity our new guys and the young guys will be getting.” It gets back to what the coach said about hi...

Kwame Brown is on the move again, but where he will sign next remains a mystery. Philadelphia 76ers Release Kwame Brown

And so ends the Kwame Brown Era in Philadelphia. Although, to be perfectly honest, we kind of forgot he was still there. Philadelphia 76ers roster changes

When looking at the 76ers early this year, nothing was certain. Who is going to stay/go? Will there be any major/minor trades? With first-year Coach Brett Brown on board, Philadelphia knew there’d be some changes. Adjustments have been made starting with the release of Kwame Brown prior to the Sixers game against the Toronto Raptors. He lasted a little over a season with the Sixers...

Hawes' clutch three helps Sixers beat Bucks in OT

Spencer Hawes remembered the last time a coach drew up a play for him to shoot a three-pointer in the waning seconds in attempt to tie a game. That time he wasn’t sure if the coach knew what he was doing. “I was in college,” Hawes said. “I thought he screwed something up. ‘Wrong guy, coach.’” In the Sixers’ dramatic 115-107 overtime victory over the Milwaukee Bucks...

76ers Envision Intriguing Duo In Noel, Hawes

Spencer Hawes has gotten off to a strong start for the Philadlephia 76ers, and Brett Brown sees the veteran center as an interesting core piece alongside Nerlens Noel in the frontcourt. “Could those two play next to each other?” Brown said. “Yes they could.” Brown likes the idea of Hawes at the power forward position. Noel, 7-foot-1, is rehabilitating a torn ACL and has...

Analyzing Thad’s Offensive Struggles

With so many fresh, inexperienced faces populating Sixers’ training camp at The Philadelphia College of Orthopedic Medicine this summer, it was assumed that the team’s established veterans: Thad Young, Spencer Hawes, and Evan Turner would be responsible for much of the team’s on-court production, and locker room leadership. While Turner and Hawes have seen their stats spike...
