The New York Knicks have made measured improvements to their 54 win roster last season. However, with the transactions around the Eastern Conference most are projecting them as no better than the fifth best team in the East. What five x-factors could push them to exceed expectations? 1. It Is Always About ‘Melo - Ultimately, the Knicks are going to go as far as Carmelo Anthony takes them. If he can build on arguably the best season of his career last year and elevate his play further in the playoffs, the Knicks will be a force to be reckoned with. Anthony is always going to be primarily a scorer but any improvements he can bring to his passing and defense will boost the Knicks. 2. Healthy Bigs - Amare Stoudemire and Andrea Bargnani both are immensely talented offensive players who have a tough time staying on the court. If the Knicks can get 60+ games from both of them and steady contributions, they will have a deep arsenal of offensive weapons and a ton of flexibility off the benc...

Knicks Talk: Metta’s Contributions

Via Chris Smith Yahoo Sports  Additionally, World Peace will be an asset to Mike Woodson on a matchup basis. Being able to play quality, physical defense on some of the league’s best perimeter scorers for a few minutes per night will be a huge relief for Shumpert and Melo, keeping them fresh during the season.  It’s important to remember that Metta also has a championship...

Haddadi 'still possible' to Knicks

Free-agent center Hamed Haddadi who worked out for the Knicks on Aug. 16 might not be done with the team yet. A source close to the player says it is "still possible" that Haddadi signs with New York. The Knicks technically have only one roster spot remaining but C.J. Leslie and Jeremy Tyler both inked partially guaranteed contracts which means they are not locks to make...

Lala Says She’ll Cut Carmelo Anthony’s Dick Off If He Cheats on Her

This is part of a bigger story in GQ about Media Take Out, but besides not sourcing who started the Honey Nut Cheerios story (umm it was me), Lala had an opportunity to ask the Media Take Out founder Fred Mwangaguhunga if heard about Carmelo Anthony ever cheating. The conversation goes as follows. Fred doesn’t know much more than that about where the rumor came from. Which is...

Knicks Talk: Remembering the Original “Dream” Dean Meminger

By Charles R. Trimble III It’s not often you get to meet a NBA champion, but I was fortunate enough to meet Dean Meminger during the summer of 99’ in a very unlikely place, an East Harlem pizza shop on 116th Street & 3rd Ave. It was crazy, because the last place you expect to see a star of any stature is in your hood, especially a not-so-friendly hood like Spanish Harlem...

Mike D’Antoni is still talking about Phil Jackson

There are two people that the current Los Angeles Lakers regime will never stop talking about and neither of them is Kobe Bryant.  Those semi-unfortunate objects of the Lakers malcontent and affection are former center Dwight Howard and ex-coach Phil Jackson. It seems that there is indeed a thin line between love and hate. Lakers coach Mike D’Antoni continues to allow the public...
