Found April 19, 2013 on Turn On The Knicks:
Welcome to our two-part breakdown of the New York Knicks/Boston Celtics round one series. Joe Caporoso and Chris Celletti decided to talk out their concerns, the match-ups and ultimately give their predictions on what will happen starting this Saturday. Read on for part two and click here for part one PART ONE RIGHT HERE CC – Before we get to Melo, you make a great point about composure in this series. It wouldn’t shock me if the Celtics,  knowing that they’re the underdogs, try to go full on with the mind games, with Garnett of course being the ringleader. But yes, this all comes back to Melo. There isn’t a player in the league with more pressure on him this postseason. The media and some “Knicks fans” are waiting with bated breath for him to fail so they can be all “See, I told you so”. But it’s a little warped in that the farther the Knicks go, I think the pressure on Melo lessens. Because of that the spotlight on him this round is going to be blinding. Putting it simply, the dude

J.R. Smith wastes no time, throws down huge dunk to open 2013 NBA Playoffs

J.R. Smith wasted no time to open the 2013 NBA Playoffs. He came in off the bench to hit 3-of-3 from the field, including this monster dunk over Boston's Jeff Green.

Well I guess this officially marks the beginning of the 2013 NBA Playoffs.     H/T to Sports Illustrated for the video.

Knicks JR Smith dunks on Celtics Jeff Green in game 1 of playoffs

The NBA post season is underway and we have already witnessed our first amazing dunk in the first game. “Sixth Man of the Year” candidate, JR Smith came off the bench in the first half to score 11 points in 10 minutes during the first half. One of those baskets was this dunk where JR bangs on Celtics Jeff Green.   When JR goes inside, the Knicks are hard to beat. JR ended the...

Knicks Victory Over the Heat *NOTE: I know this isn’t one play, but this game was huge. Your Morning Dump… Will the Celtics be focused on the Knicks?

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. “The (bleep) is crazy,” Garnett said. “Everybody is trying to at least focus in on, obviously our game, the playoffs. But the obvious, everybody’s worried also.” Said Jason Terry: “We’re still thinking...

The Celtics toughest road to banner 18 yet

Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce know that this season will be the toughest run through the Eastern Conference yet As early as a month ago, my friend Sully and I are were discussing sports and the topic of the Boston Celtics came up. At the time, the post-Rondo success of the team was in a bit of a free-fall and despite the fact that they played admirably against the Miami Heat, the...

TOK Game Recap- Knicks Take Game 1 Over Celtics

Down by a score of 53-49 at the end of the first half, and defense a concern, the Knicks came out in the second half and gave up a total of 25 points, including just 8 in the 4th quarter. It was the lowest point total in a second half ever in the much storied Celtics playoff history, and the Knicks went on to win game 1 of the series by a final score of 85-78. It wasn’t pretty...

Throwback: KG in a Three Point – Shooting Contest???

So I recently came across a youtube video that features KG and Paul Pierce in the McDonald’s All American 3pt shooting contest and Dunk contest. You’d think the Truth would be in the 3pt contest and KG in the Dunk contest, right? WRONG…the 6’11 center out of high school, Kevin Garnett, was selected to particpate in the three point contest and boy did he struggle! Although...

Turnovers the Difference in Celtics' Game 1 Loss

Celtics' 21 turnovers prove too much to overcome There are plenty of reasons the Celtics fell short Saturday afternoon in their playoff opener against the Knicks. That the Celtics scored just eight fourth quarter points would be a reasonable place to start, especially when you consider that Boston led by three heading into the fourth. Then there are Jason Terry’s zero points...

Your Morning Dump… Where the hated Celtics have become America’s team

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. But now the Celtics aren’t only a 7-seed with proud, graying stars hoping that muscle memory carries them into May and beyond. Monday, bloody Monday changed everything for every Boston institution. Just as the...
