After the Clippers huge overtime win against the Grizzlies on Monday night that gave them a 3-1 series lead, Nick Young decided to play a practical joke on the media. Do we know for sure that it was a practical joke? Absolutely not, but we’re trying to convince ourselves that that was the case. As you can see from the photo above, Young took the podium wearing one of the ugliest shirts you’ll ever see. When Chris Paul pointed out that it was Young who got the Clippers going with a big three-pointer, Nick credited his post-game wardrobe selection. “It’s the shirt, man,” Young said with a smile. “What do you want me to say?” Paul said when a reporter asked for his thoughts on the shirt. “All I’m saying is you’ve got to feel pretty good about yourself to wear that shirt.” With everyone in the media howling, Young then got up and gave his seat to Blake Griffin, who was dressed in a standard shirt, tie, and sport coat. Griffin may have scored 30 points to Young’s nine, but Young left more

Clippers have premier game-closer in Paul

LOS ANGELES--Prior to the beginning of the Clippers-Grizzlies playoff matchup, no one was talking about the possibility of it being the best first round series played, or that Chris Paul may be stepping into a pantheon reserved for just a few NBA stars. Turns out everyone should have been shouting about it. Los Angeles once again showed a resolve not always apparent during the...

Woman Wanders Onto Court During Nuggets-Lakers Game, Reportedly Looking for Kenyon Martin (Video)

Just how far would you go to stalk Kenyon Martin? If you're Savannah McMillan-Christmas , you wander onto the court of an NBA playoff game looking for him, even if he doesn't play for the two teams on the court. That's what happened on Sunday night, apparently, as McMillan-Christmas just wandered out onto the court during Game 4 between the Lakers and Nuggets. According...

What Makes Chris Paul So Dangerous In Crunch Time?

What more can I say about Chris Paul and his prepotency in crunch time?  It’s gotten to the point where, in critical and/or late-game situations, he’s simply elevated himself to a level that the rest of the league isn’t playing on.  Actually, to say he’s elevated himself to such a level makes it seem as if this is all new for him, so I don’t think I want to word...

Chris Paul Is The Best Guard On The Planet

Tonight in LA, Chris Paul did what he does in the playoffs: put a clearly inferior team on his back and dragged them to victory. And in the process, he cemented his status as the best point in the world, the best guard in Los Angeles, and the most compelling player in the playoffs. How good was CP3? He was the Clipper offense in the fourth quarter and overtime, when the team's...

Chris Webber calls out Blake Griffin for Flopping

Los Angeles Clippers star Blake Griffin had his best game of the playoffs but the talk after the game was about him flopping. During the game TNT broadcaster and former player Chris Webber called out Griffin for his acting. Weber went off on Griffin because a foul was called on the Memphis Grizzlies Marc Gasol when he went after a loose ball. Griffin made it look liked...

Chris Webber warns Blake Griffin to stop flopping so much (Video)

Blake Griffin may be one of the most physical and ferocious players in the NBA, but he’s developing a reputation for being a flopper. Chris Webber played with known flopper Vlade Divac on the Sacramento Kings, and he understands that’s not a reputation a player wants. That’s why he warned Griffin about flopping so much after the All-Star forward acted to get a call in his...

Chris Webber Calls Out Blake Griffin For Flopping

Blake Griffin flops. The Los Angeles Clippers flop. NBA players flops. However, there is flopping and then there is FLOPPING. Blake Griffin,  had a STELLAR production night — offensively–  with 30 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. However, some see his theatrics and  his flopping  — in this instance he flopped (Marc Gasol took the foul) as [...]

POTD 5/7/12: Blake Griffin on Hamed Haddadi

Individually, Blake Griffin had been having a rough go of things throughout his first three playoff games.  He’d struggled to score in the post, failed to hit from the outside, and contributed heavily to one of the worst free-throwing performances in playoff history.  Still, the Clippers had the advantage in the series, and a strong, 30-point showing from Griffin helped LA...

Kenyon Martin’s Stalker Doesn’t Know What Team He Plays For

So, you spent your Sunday night watching the Nuggets blow a variety of opportunities as they ultimately fell into a 1-3 hole in their first-round series against the Lakers.  Despite the unfortunate outcome (you’re not rooting for the Lakers), I feel like you saw a pretty entertaining game.  As dramatic as the finish was, it was actually the second quarter that I found to be...

Charles Barkley discusses Blake the flopper Griffin

Blake Griffin is a spectacular athlete. He's the greatest pure dunker since Shawn Kemp was a Sonic, his YouTube comedy videos are hilarious, and he's even got me respecting Kia Motors a little bit. His post game isn't quite there yet, but I think it'll come eventually, and he just went for 30 the other night before fouling out. But, he is also a pretty blatant flopper...
