No Oden, No problem. Nicolas Batum for ROY!

After a listless effort in their opener, the Portland Trailblazers won a nailbiter at home against a tough San Antonio Spurs team on Friday night. The Blazers are loaded with rookie of the year candidates as many picked Greg Oden to win the award heading into the season. Rookie Spaniard Rudy Fernandez has been another trendy pick after his solid performance against Team USA in the Olympic gold medal matchup. A few even thought that maybe Jerryd Bayless could potentially surprise some people this season as he was the summer league MVP.
