Viewers should not expect to see new TNT NBA analyst Shaquille O’Neal on coverage of next year’s NCAA Tournament.
Sports Media Watch learned Friday that there is no NCAA Tournament component to O’Neal’s deal with Turner Sports. While that could change in the future, O’Neal appears to be an NBA-exclusive analyst at least for the time being.
The TNT NBA studio team of host Ernie Johnson and analysts Kenny Smith and Charles Barkley contributed to coverage of this year’s NCAA Tournament for CBS and Turner Sports.
Meanwhile, O’Neal’s addition will not result in the departure of Chris Webber. Webber will continue to make select appearances on Inside the NBA this season.
