DENVER - Kenneth Faried finished with 16 points and made a go-ahead layup late in overtime as the Denver Nuggets held off the Oklahoma City Thunder 121-118 on Sunday night. Kevin Durant scored a game-high 37, and Russell Westbrook had 36 points and nine assists for the Thunder, who were trying to win for their grieving coach, Scott Brooks, who led his team with a heavy heart after the passing of this mother, Lee Brooks, on Saturday night. The Thunder almost came through after trailing by double digits in the fourth quarter but couldn't hold off Denver. Oklahoma City led by one in overtime before Faried hit a layup with 46 seconds left. Durant missed a 3-pointer at the other end but Faried missed two free throws with 10 seconds left. The Thunder called a timeout to set up a play, but an illegal screen on Nick Collison gave the Nuggets the ball. Andre Miller hit two free throws with five seconds left.
