Fabricio Oberto whom played for the San Antonio Spurs from 2005-2009, has retired from the NBA due to a heart condition. ‘Fab’ as many were calling him did win a championship with the Spurs in 2007.
He has a heart condition called atrial fibrillation which cause the heart to flutter.“I made this decision to put my health and my family in front of basketball,” Oberto said in a release distributed by the Trail Blazers. “It was a tough decision to make after playing for so many years, but it was the right one.”His deer friend Manu Ginobili quickly went to twitter to remind everyone that he was a great competitor and won at every stop.
Besides being a g8 teammate, he won Arg League, SouthAm League, King’s Cup, ACB, ULEB Cup, Olympic Gold and NBA. Not a bad resume.We here at Air Alamo wish Oberto the best in his next endeavors.
