NBA head coaches do not always command the full attention of their teams during timeouts in February. Their guys are sometimes watching the Red Panda as the coach sketches out an inbounds play on his dry erase clipboard. Sometimes that's even understandable. In late May, however, with the playoff stakes driving all eyes towards that coach's every word, a guy like Gregg Popovich or Scott Brooks can win you a game or two by what he draws out on that same board. These seven-game series are usually won by a series of adjustments. Whichever team makes and executes those best ones wins. For the San Antonio Spurs heading into Game Two, there are not too many things they might want to change. Maybe play with that "nasty" Pop was looking for a little sooner. Video: Popovich wants “some nasty”

Sometimes the NBA huddle isn’t about making any major adjustments or going to the board to show how your team needs to execute. Sometimes it is finding the write words to motivate your team. Scott Brooks admits benching Ibaka was a mistake

When the Oklahoma City Thunder’s head coach, Scott Brooks, made the decision to bench starting power-forward and defensive juggernaut, Serge Ibaka, in the fourth quarter of Sunday night’s game one of the Western Conference finals between the Thunder and Spurs, he knew that he may end up regretting his decision. Brooks needs to correct his errors from game one. Being a head...

‘I want some nasty’ shirts already popular among Spurs fans (Pictures)

As expected, the phrase “I want some nasty” has caught on quickly in San Antonio. When the Spurs erased a nine-point deficit in the fourth quarter of Game 1 against the Thunder, they did so after Gregg Popovich was heard urging his players to dig deep and yelling “I want some nasty!” at them. The team responded by grinding out a huge victory, and a new catch phrase has been...

Well, at least I desperately hope [...]
