Chalk this up as a lock for the SportsCenter Not Top 10 play of the week.  Hugo High School (Oklahoma) needed to inbound the ball and run off 2.9 seconds to clinch the State Quarterfinal victory in the Class 3A playoffs.  Hugo held a 37-36 lead over Millwood when guard Trey Johnson received the inbound pass and then ran towards his own hoop and scored a buzzer-beating layup. The Millwood assistant coach said: “When I saw the kid going that way, I was like, ‘No, he’s not. No, he’s not … Oh, yes he is,’” Millwood assistant coach David Samilton told The Oklahoman. “I couldn’t believe it.  I feel sorry for him.  Just like Chris Webber, when he called the timeout.  I really do feel sorry for him.  But hey, I’ll take it.” While the Hugo coach Darnell Shanklin said that it was difficult to talk to his players after the game, and clearly he had never experienced anything like this before: “He gives you 100 percent all the time,” Shanklin said of Johnson. “Heart goes out to the kid because he feels bad. He feels really, really bad.” You have to feel bad for the kid but man, that was incredibly dumb.  What on Earth was going through his head? [usatoday.com]
