The Orlando Magic Youth Foundation announced it raised $17,000 from the 25th Anniversary Garage Sale the Orlando Magic held at RDV Sportsplex on Saturday. The McCormick Foundation matched all proceeds raised at the event at 50 cents for every dollar, meaning the event raised more than $11,000 in merchandise sold.
It was an incredible event with lots of unique items from Magic past available for sale and some excess inventory from game giveaways. Not to mention the extra Dwight Howard gear lying around for bargain prices.
Magic employees at the event said that nearly 3/4 of the garage sale's inventory was sold within the first hour and a half. The big-ticket items included a LeRoy Nieman print drawn during the Magic's first few years. A framed print went for $500.
Other interesting Magic items included game-worn shoes, game-worn warmup pants (I am now the proud owner of a set of mid-2000s warmup pants likely belonging to Stacey Augmo...
