On Paper #4 Memphis Grizzlies vs. #5 L.A. Clippers This looks like it will be an exciting first round matchup. “Lob City” is looking to make the splash that the introduction of Chris Paul promised. The teams played 3 times this year with the lower-seeded Clippers taking 2 of the 3, both victories coming in Los Angeles. The Griz are led by some of their own young guns in Rudy Gay, OJ Mayo, and Mike Conley. Yet, the difference in this match-up will be the effectiveness of the big men. Memphis’ Marc Gasol has had a solid year averaging 14.6 pts per game and nearly 9 rebounds. The highlight film that is Blake Griffin went 20-10 this year and will have to dominate for the Clippers to make noise in the playoffs this year. I think Memphis has had a quiet solid year and coming in to this series will be overlooked because of the glitz of Griffin and others. Yet, the Clippers provide a difficult match-up and should overwhelm the Grizzlies. The games start Sunday at 9:30 pm on TNT LA in 6 Upse...

Stars' health among questions for L.A. teams

As the Clippers surged back from an 18-point deficit Wednesday, Chris Paul bounced out to meet his teammates as they returned to the bench after a New York timeout. He did so with a limp, the result of a sore groin that kept him from playing. Rebuilding Hornets really need big men

The New Orleans Hornets are undoubtedly in a full-blown rebuilding mode. They traded away All-Star point guard Chris Paul, endured an overwhelming number of injuries and were never really in playoff contention. They patched their roster together with a variety of players signed to 10-day contracts just to get through the season. They finished with a 21-45 record, worst in the Western...

NBA247365.COM’s First Round Preview: Western Conference

San Antonio Spurs [1] vs Utah Jazz [8] The Jazz aren’t going to win, but they’ll make this more interesting than you may expect.  I’m not even going to say they take more than one game, but the match ups in Salt Lake will be close (this team has a way of ending up involved in thrilling finishes, especially at home).  Utah has a youthful team full of young talents and under...
