Back in his days in Phoenix, Amar’e Stoudemire was a dominant post presence and one of the best overall scorers in the league. Fast forward a few years, countless injuries and several surgeries later, the man known as STAT is seen as nothing more than a role player by many. Now, with Derek Fisher as a coach, the Knicks are expected to run the triangle offense in this upcoming season. One of the reasons the triangle offense has been successful is because of the addition of opportunities to score in the post. This is one of many reasons why Carmelo Anthony is expected to thrive under this system and the main reason why it could make Stoudemire a key player once again. In the Summer League, the Knicks practiced running the triangle and in a few situations, the player in the post was able to get into a position to score.
