Payback is a $%&@ But the Orlando Magic would have none on this night falling to the Boston Celtics 91-83 in historic fashion. Monday’s  loss was hurtful and embarrassing. Orlando wanted to prove that Boston’s first win was a fluke because a team with 5 rotation players missing should never win by 31. Never. The Orlando Magic said all the right things before their second game with Boston this week. “This isn’t a statement game”, “We just want a win”, etc. All the things that they were supposed to say. Then they let the truth be told in their play when they were winning and then again when started to unravel. This game did matter. Entering tonight’s round 2  the Celtics were without Rajon Rondo, Ray Allen, Jermaine O’neal and lost Keyon Dooling (hip pointer) in the 2nd quarter for the rest of the contest. For about 30 minutes the Magic were on the road to redemption but a tragedy of vast proportions occurred in the final 18...

JaJuan Johnson and E'Twaun Moore's Journey to the NBA Began Together at Age 12

Comcast Sports New New England's Jessica Camerato just published a great piece on how Celtics rookies JaJuan Johnson and E'Twaun Moore met at age 12, when playing basketball professionally was just a dream to them. The two's lives ended up paralleling each other, and the pair traveled the journey from middle school to the NBA together. From the time they met in seventh...

Your Morning Dump... Where Doc nearly pulled the plug on comeback

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here... highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. “I told the guys in the locker room [at halftime], if we just cut this lead in half, they’ll give us a chance to win the game,’’ said Pierce. “Once we saw the lead go to 11 at the end of the third...

Comments From the Other Side - Magic 1/26

Magic game threads were fun in this game. Talk about going from ecstasy to despair! I'll never understand fans wishing injury and death on players though. Talking about Pierce's stabbing goes way over the line. I've gotten down about a big loss or when the Celtics weren't playing well, but I've never hated on the Celts the way some of these fans are hating...

Your Morning Dump... WTF got into Chris Wilcox??

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here... highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.   “Last night got me a little more comfortable,” said Wilcox. “Tonight, I just wanted to play hard. I was a little winded but it was a good one.” Contributions from the nine-year veteran were...

Second Half Collapse Dooms Magic

After the Magic were blown out of the TD Garden in Boston Monday night, they entered the rematch Thursday night looking for revenge. Throughout the first half, it looked as though the Magic would get that revenge.  After Boston took an 8-2 lead, it was all Orlando.  The Magic went on a 30-8 run and played most of the quarter without Dwight Howard.  Howard picked up two fouls...

Celtics come back from 27 down to beat the Magic, 91-83

This post-game analysis was going to go a whole lot differently as the Celtics started off tonight’s game against the Orlando Magic. Boston fell behind early and it looked as though the Magic were going to run away with this one and avenge a historic loss in Boston. The C’s trailed by 16 after the [...]

Blake Griffin Goes Double-Clutch Reverse

Blake Griffin's dunking skills garner most of the attention but (unlike certain centers who play for the Orlando Magic whose names rhyme with Schmite Boward) Griffin has also spent plenty of time working on his low post game and developing some moves to increase his scoring chances. This double-clutch reverse over Andrew Bynum is a perfect example of the evolution of Griffin...

Stormy in Orlando

Things are not well in Orlando Beach. In fact, they may just start to get worse unless the deal that they don’t want to do is completed in the near future. The Orlando Magic’s record stands at 12-6, but this past week they have suffered two of their worse losses in year. First, they only managed to score 56 points earlier in the week to the Boston Celtics. They played...

Pierce's 17 in 3rd leads Celtics past Indy 94-87

Paul Pierce played more than 44 minutes in Orlando on Thursday night, then boarded a plane with his Celtics teammates and arrived in Boston after 3 a.m. Friday.

Boston Celtics 100, Washington Wizards 94

The Celtics shot 51.4% from the floor last Sunday and he was the big reason for the road win over the Wizards.  Paul Pierce had a monster game as he finished up with 34 points, 8 rebounds, 10 assists and 3 steals!  Kevin Garnett (17 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 blocked shot), Mickeal Pietrus (14 points, 1 rebound and 2 steals) and Brandon Bass (13 points and 9 rebounds)...
