After the first preseason victory for the Indiana Pacers, in which they took the Minnesota Timberwolves 98-86, head coach Jim O’Brien is not pleased with the performance of his reserves. The same goes for Brandon Rush in the rotation.
Brandon Rush and the Shooting Guard Situation
In a report from the Official Indiana Pacers website, O’Brien has been sitting Brandon Rush due to his five-game suspension – and has hinted that he will need to earn a spot, which is influenced by how others may play in those games.
From O’Brien’s quote, it seems as if though Rush may be back a bit in the rotation, as well as O’Brien wanting to get ready of being without Rush for the five games:
“There are two issues,” said O’Brien. “There would be the issue of where he would be in the rotation if he wasn’t suspended. That is an issue separate from the suspension. He has to earn a rotation spot, number one. Number two, clearly he can’t be in it the first five games so ...
