CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Indiana Pacers lead the NBA in all the major defensive statistical categories, and they are taking great pride in it. The Pacers put that stifling defense on display again Tuesday night as they routed the Charlotte Bobcats 103-76, limiting the Bobcats to 34.7 percent shooting from the field and piling up a whopping 60-31 rebound advantage. It was the Pacers' fifth win in the last six games, and it was so dominant that Coach Frank Vogel was able to rest his starters for the entire fourth quarter. Indiana led by 30 early in the fourth. "It was a great win for our guys," Vogel said. "I'm very proud of our effort and our discipline. It's very difficult no matter who you're playing or what the circumstances are to build a 30-point lead on the road. So I'm just proud of our effort." The Central Division leaders came into Tuesday night leading the NBA in fewest points allowed (89.3) and lowest opponent's field goal...

Midway through the third quarter of January 10th's nationally televised handcuffing of the New York Knicks, Indiana Pacers forward Paul George jumped a passing lane near the top of the key, intercepted a pass, and with an effortless indifference, slammed the basketball through the rim.
Knicks head coach Mike Woodson responded with a quick time-out and shake of his head...
The Indiana Pacers take great pride in their defense, otherwise they would not be ranked 1st in the NBA with only 88.9 points allowed per game. It takes more than just a starting five to play great team defense, and Roy Hibbert wanted to remind the Pacers reserve players of that on Tuesday night by giving them an incentive late in the game.
With Indiana holding a comfortable lead...
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- Roy Hibbert had 18 points and seven rebounds, and the Indiana Pacers handed the Charlotte Bobcats their 13th straight home loss with a 103-76 victory Tuesday night.
The Pacers bounced back from Sunday's 11-point defeat to the Brooklyn Nets and won for the fifth time in six games.
With team owner Michael Jordan looking on from the bench, the Bobcats lost...
I’m not sure you can quantify what Pacers center Roy Hibbert did Tuesday as making a bounty payment, but Hibbert did pay his teammates for carrying through on a game plan.
The Indianapolis Star is reporting that during a 103-76 blowout of the Charlotte Bobcats, upon exiting the game, Hibbert told all five of the Pacers substitutes entering the game that if they kept the Bobcats...
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Roy Hibbert scored 18 points to lead a balanced attack, and the Indiana Pacers crushed the Charlotte Bobcats 103-76 Tuesday night for their second victory over the Bobcats in the last four nights. The Pacers led by as many as 17 in the first half and went on to lead by as many as 30 in the second half in a workmanlike performance. They limited the Bobcats to...
The official scoreboard read 97-86, but this game was not close from midway through the second quarter. When the game began, it looked like it was going to be an easy night for the Pacers as the starters eased their way to a 15-8 lead. Enter the Pacers reserves and in a matter of minutes the Pacers were staring at a 17-point deficit. They never recovered.
This was a nightmarish...
Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: the Charlotte Bobcats will aim to end a losing streak tonight. Blah, blah, blah, right? Yes, the Bobcats have another quality losing streak on their hands again, this time being of the three-game variety. And luck them, they get to try to prevent it from advancing to [...]
“I don’t remember us having a game like that where we got outrebounded that bad,” Bobcats guard Ben Gordon said, after the Bobcats were outrebounded by 29 in a home loss to the Indiana Pacers. Actually, it would be weird if Gordon could remember being outrebounded that bad, because it’s literally never happened in the [...]
ORLANDO - The Indiana Pacers have built their surprising success this season on the ability to defend, and particularly on defending the 3-point shot. Their strategy was blown apart Wednesday night. The Orlando Magic torched the Pacers 97-86, using a flurry of 3-point shots to roll through the NBA's top-rated defensive team. The Magic hit a season high 12 3-pointers, the...

The Indiana Pacers had little trouble picking up their first road win of the new year last time out. A matchup with the Orlando Magic wouldn't appear to give them too much of a challenge either.
The Pacers will try to keep rolling Wednesday night when they visit the Magic, losers in 11 of 12 and a season-high six in a row at home.
The Celtics, behind another triple-double from Rondo, defeated the Bobcats 100-89 at the TD Garden Monday night. Yes, it was just 11 points. And I know that all non-Celtic fans will send me e-mails later calling me an idiot for praising them. But they had this game in control pretty well from the very beginning. Charlotte made a slight dent in the third, but I would still be proud...

Yeah, MR. Jordan, we're all starting to have this look when watching the Bobcats play.
It’s the fourth game in five nights. The legs turn to jelly early. The arms are already stiff and heavy. The shots you are certain are money are clanking off the front of the rim. This is the gift given to the Charlotte Bobcats by the NBA. The bow on top of that gift is that we’re...
7:13: The Celtics will face the 9-27 Bobcats tonight at the TD Garden. The Bobcats are third-to-last in the conference and don't have a very bright future. Every good player they get they either trade away or that player loses his edge. They've been like this since Larry Brown left. But they're still an NBA team who can compete, so play hard and put them away early. There...
