Chris Copeland has already brought over the Knicks injury jinx to Indiana.
Copeland who signed a two-year $6 million pact with the Pacers last month underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee today in Indy and is out 6-to-8 weeks the team announced. With training camp to start around Oct. 1 Copeland should be back in time for the first day.
The Knicks passed on re-signing the rookie 6-9 sniper from the Belgium League giving more than half the mini mid-level exception to point guard Pablo Prigioni. That put the Knicks out of play when the Pacers came up with a big offer. Knicks GM Glen Grunwald said he would've liked to re-sign Copeland but didn't consider him part of last season's "core rotation.''
