Boston Celtics forward Paul Pierce probably wished he had more time to enjoy Sunday's double-overtime victory over the Miami Heat. Unfortunately, ESPN reporter Doris Burke broke the bad news to Pierce in a postgame interview that teammate Rajon Rondo has a torn ACL and is done for the year. Rondo was already sitting out for Sunday's game against the Heat, but the news about his ACL was not made public before the game. Apparently the news was not even revealed to Rondo's teammates, who would not hear the news until after the game was over, leading to the unusual moment between Burke and Pierce. The loss of Rondo overshadows a hard-fought win by the Celtics over their conference rivals, and will certainly be a major hurdle for the Celtics to overcome for the rest of the season. H/T Cosby.
