The Boston Celtics aren't likely to trade Paul Pierce. ESPN's Marc Stein calls the chances of the Celtics dealing the Truth "highly remote." But if Boston were to move the former Kansas Jayhawk, there's one destination that makes a lot of sense: Los Angeles. As in, the Clippers. Stein writes that if Boston GM Danny Ainge were to trade Pierce, he's try to send him somewhere No. 34 "could get somewhat excited about. And that leaves only one realistic option: Pierce going back home to Los Angeles with the Clippers for a package headlined by young point guard Eric Bledsoe." Again, this isn't likely. Bledsoe is "untouchable" because the Clippers need a backup plan in case Chris Paul leaves in free agency. And the Celtics aren't likely to get as much in return as Pierce is worth. More likely: The Celtics move Brandon Bass, Courtney Lee or Jason Terry.

Paul Pierce, Celtics Escape With Victory But Blown Lead Offers Reminder That They Cannot Let Up

BOSTON — Paul Pierce’s shot went through the hoop and the crowd erupted, cheering wildly for a fourth straight victory by the Celtics. Amid the cheers, though, there had to be quite a few folks just sighing in relief, because this game turned out to be a lot more interesting than it had to be. Before Pierce’s 3-pointer nestled into the net with 2.5 seconds remaining to clinch...

Rondo-less Celtics Looking to Remain Competitive: Win Three in a Row!

Perhaps team captain Paul Pierce said it best after last Sunday’s thrilling and gritty 102-100 2OT win over the defending champion Miami Heat on national TV…When told that Rondo had a torn ACL that would sideline him for the season Pierce expressed his frustration and then immediately stated…”Guys are gonna have to step up! That’s all I can say!” Luckily, step up is exactly...

Defibrillators: Boston Celtics hang on over Los Angeles Clippers 106-104

Paul Pierce came up big late against the ClippersI know two things to be true about the 2013 Celtics. The first: If something is too good to be true (ie. a first half offensive explosion and lockdown defense), it likely is. The second: No lead is safe, specifically no lead under 20.Boston tried VERY hard to lose the game in the fourth quarter this afternoon, blowing all but two points...

Celtics GM: Paul Pierce Trades Haven’t Been Discussed

In his weekly appearance on WEEI’s Big Show, Celtics president Danny Ainge spoke openly about the state of his team. He made two things clear following Rajon Rondo‘s season-ending ACL injury: 1) “It’s silly” to think they’ll be better without him and 2) Paul Pierce trades haven’t been discussed. “Nothing with Paul has been discussed,” said Ainge. “I too would...

Boston Celtics: Time to Sell. But not Kevin Garnett or Paul Pierce.

With the recent news that Jared Sullinger will be out for the rest of the season, joining superstar point guard, Rajon Rondo, all hope of contention is lost. They could make a big trade to acquire talent, but it would cost all of their valuable pieces and long-term cap space, which is why Rudy Gay is not in Boston and why Josh Smith will not be in green either. With a healthy Rajon...

Comments from the Other Side - Clippers 2/3

Some good stuff.   Hilarious that a team with Chris Paul on it complains about flops.  The refs missed stuff both ways so saying they were playing 5 on 8 didn't fly.    Just listen to a replay of Tommy last night saying how much he hates Eli Roe.  For thinking the Celtics are terrible they sure were coveting KG and PP and Doc pretty hard.  And I'm starting to think...

Green Envy: What Clippers Fans Said - 2/3/13

The Boston Celtics finished off their four-game homestand Sunday afternoon with a win over the Los Angeles Clippers. The 106-104 victory was the Celtics' fourth-straight, and they have now won each game following Rajon Rondo's ACL injury. Paul Pierce's 22 points led the way for the Celtics, who withstood a furious fourth-quarter comeback bid by the Clippers. Let's...

Squashing another rumor - Clippers reportedly not interested in Garnett for Bledsoe trade

With the good Los Angeles team in town yesterday, it was not all that surprising to see trade rumors between the Celtics and Clippers pop up. After all with one team floating right at the .500 mark and with several key veterans on their roster, and the other team in 3rd place in their Conference and seemingly one piece away from being championship contenders - they were a natural...

Comments from the Other Side - Magic 2/1

What would a Comments post be without a wheelchair mention and some officiating complaints.   Seems like they are in every thread.  Love that our bench is producing so well these past few games.   I was stuck with the Magic feed last night.  I missed Mike and Tommy but even worse, they kept getting the names of the Celtics wrong.   I've highlighted my favorites.  What...

Steve Novak To Participate In 3-Point Contest At All-Star Weekend

The NBA is revamping its popular All-Star Weekend festivities and Wade and Los Angeles Clippersstar Chris Paul have been chosen as captains in a new format that will pit the conferences against each other. The league will get final say on the participants but Wade and Paul have been consulted. Wade said former Marquette teammate and New York Knicks forward Steve Novak would...

The hits keep coming as Celtics smother Magic

Late in the second quarter, Jameer Nelson went up for a floater, doing all he could to keep the Magic afloat in a poor offensive first half. The shot hit off the back iron and Paul Pierce went up for it grabbing the rebound. Nelson tried to be sneaky and make a play on the ball. Only Pierce's elbow came down hard on Nelson's forearm. Nelson doubled over in pain as Boston...
