For the first time since Jan. 3, the New Orleans Pelicans finally enjoyed a victory. They ended a eight-game losing streak on Monday afternoon after pulling out a much needed victory at Fed Ex Forum.
Instead of faltering down the stretch like they done throughout their losing streak, forward Anthony Davis and Tyreke Evans made several clutch to hold off the Grizzlies. Davis played 40 minutes and scored scored a game-high 27 points. Evans came off the bench and scored 15.
The Pelicans built a nine-point lead with just more than nine minutes and then held on down the stretch. The Pelicans started the fourth quarter with center Alexis Ajinca making a jump shot. And the Pelicans took a 74-71 lead with 10:10 remaining on a 17-footer by second-year forward Darius Miller.
