After missing nearly two weeks of training camp while rehabilitating a calf muscle injury, former Louisville point guard and current Detroit Piston, Peyton Siva, is now getting an opportunity to prove himself at the pro-level.
With the Pistons have a short-handed backcourt last night against the Orlando Magic, Siva saw an increased role, earning 47-minutes of action.
Siva played very well in the first quarter, drawing two charges and committing just one turnover against Orlando’s full-court pressure. He finished with12 points, seven assists and four rebounds.
Unfortunately, he also committed nine turnovers, however Pistons head coach Mo Cheeks didn’t seem too concerned.
“He’s tough and that was tough for him to play against that kind of defense,” Cheeks said after the game. “With those guys swarming him like that and he’s not that big, so it’s going to be a little tougher for him. I knew he could play that way. I thought he was great.”
