Earlier today, the official Twitter account for the Los Angeles Lakers posted a video of the players practicing at the team’s facility in El Segundo. They followed up this post with a photo showing Nick Young, Chris Kaman, Wesley Johnson, Robert Sacre playing two-on-two. It’s good to see the new players developing chemistry already by playing games of two-on-two; according to Lakers player development coach Mark Madsen, the scrimmages in practice have been “spirited” thus far. Johnson and Kaman versus Young and Sacre – who are you taking? Intensity ramping up at the facility everyday. Los Angeles Lakers Apologize for 9/11 #NeverForget Tweet

Today marks a day in history that most Americans will not soon forget (and shouldn't). I am sure that many of you saw people with American flags draped over the overpass of a freeway today along with 'Never Forget' signs. The idea is to honor and remember the people that died that day and have died since. I am sure that was what the Los Angeles Lakers intended with...

Lakers Tweet ‘Never Forget’ Photo of Kobe Bryant on Anniversary of 9/11, Quickly Delete Tweet

If the Lakers were looking to offend a few people and confuse just about everyone else, they succeeded. Twitter was loaded with 9/11-themed messages on Wednesday, the 12th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. The tweets ranged from touching and personal to curious and questionable, with the Lakers pushing hard to lead the latter group. A photo of young Kobe Bryant...

Report: Lakers don’t believe they can sign LeBron in free agency

LeBron James has no idea what he’s going to do in free agency, and that suits the Lakers just fine. Source: No One Within Lakers Believes They Can Sign LeBron In Free Agency

The history of the Los Angeles Lakers suggests they should be able to bring aboard a major star in 2014, when they could have large salary cap space. Some members of the Lakers' management, however, have long faces -- particularly when it comes to potentially signing LeBron James next summer. "Within the organization there isn't a single person that believes we can bring...

NBA teams' misguided 9/11 tributes

If people thought that a golf course advertising a $9.11 special on 9/11 was cause for uproar, then this post on the Los Angeles Lakers' official Twitter account is sure to result in a few angry phone calls and emails: The post has already been deleted , but thankfully Deadspin preserved the screen grab you see above before it could be erased from the Internet. I'm not so...

Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal are considered by many to be the greatest one-two punch to ever step on a basketball court. Bryant recently told Jimmy Kimmel that...

Lakers Really Nail Their 9/11 Tweet

The Lakers have to be the front-runner for the oddest 9/11 themed tweet in all 12-years since the horrendous events took place. The team’s Twitter page has since taken down the tweet and picture, but we will forever have it, because it’s the internet. The post Lakers Really Nail Their 9/11 Tweet appeared first on Overtime.
