For the first time in 12 inter-conference meetings the Pistons defeated a Western Conference opponent and also won for the first time this season when allowing more than 90 points defeating the Portland Trail Blazers 108-101 Monday night from The Palace.
Brandon Knight led the way for Detroit with 26 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists outplaying Damian Lillard who had 12 points, 7 assists and 3 rebounds on the night.
Each of Detroit’s starting five scored in double figures including Greg Monroe and Kyle Singler who each had a double-double in the game. Monroe finished the night with 20 points and 10 rebounds while Singler, who’s looked very good in his first season with the team, scored 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Charlie Villanueva and Rodney Stuckey also had productive nights off the bench scoring 1o and 11 points respectively.
Detroit has now won their past three home games and are 4-3 in their last 7 games after starting the season with 8 straight losses.
