Jonas Jerebkpo was fighting for position under the basket in the Detroit Pistons' loss to the Sacramento Kings last night. He was battling Thomas Robinson until Robinson put an end to that battle, and his night, in one swift motion. Robinson threw his right elbow high and hard into Jerebko. Jerebko fell to the court clutching his throat and was examined by the Pistons' medical staff. Robinson was ejected, as well he should have been. The elbow was so clearly intentional. After watching the video, it is obvious Robinson knew what he had done, knew it was intentional, and knew he had been busted. As soon as Jerebko hit the ground and the ref ran over, Robinson began his march of shame off the court. He knew he was being ejected. For a moment after the elbow was thrown and Jerebko hit the floor, the injury looked serious. It seemed as if Jerebko was struggling to breathe. However, according to Ailene Voison of the Sacramento Bee, he was just stunned. Voison also said Robinson is likely facing a one-game suspension for his actions.Jerebko is in his third season in the NBA after being drafted in 2009 from Sweden. He has played each of his previous two seasons with the Pistons. In his career, Jerebko has averaged 9.1 points per game and 5.4 rebounds per game.It seems as if Jerebko is just fine and will be able to play in the Pistons' next game against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday. Detroit is still looking for their first win of the season after five-straight losses.
